Customer Reviews for Best Western Roundhouse Suites

Low Cost Business Travel - posted on 02/20/2006

This hotel has very reasonable rates for business travelers. The shuttle service to\from the airport is very convenient. The hotel shuttle van to many local drop-off and pick-up points makes it very easy to get around the city to local sites.

Pleasantly Surprised - posted on 03/01/2007

We were pleasantly surprise. The Hotel was clean, odor free and the rooms were comfortable with basic features. Transportation to the subway was easily available and the uniqueness of the structure with it's history made it fun. We are planning another trip to Boston and will definitely stay there again.

not so happy guest - posted on 08/27/2006

service desk personnel were helpful. Our key cards would not work the next 2 days and had to be rekeyed every day. our room was also left open by housekeeper when we arrived back in the evening after being out the whole day, in the middle of our stay, notified front desk immediately but he seemed not too concerned and just told us to check if there was anything missing, which fortunately none was. There was no security in the premises. The room also was not vacuumed for the 3 days we stayed, since a small rubber band on the carpet by the bedside stayed there the whole time.

Nice hotel - posted on 08/02/2006

I really liked this hotel. The suites were small, yet roomy. Each suite was equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, and 2nd tv. The continental breakfast was also very good. I would only recommend adding some type of easy-to-fix protein. All of the choices were carbs. The parking was limited for a hotel if this caliber. We had to park in a place that was not designated for it on Saturday night.

4th of July in Boston - posted on 07/11/2006

The only real negative to the Best Western Roundhouse is the location. The staff was efficient, helpful and friendly and the breakfast was good. The room was clean with good amenities but did have a bit of a "musty" odor to it. The shuttle was available all but one morning, but it was a different story in the evening. We waited at least an hour or more in the evening and one time we had to get a cab because it never showed up at all. However, overall it was a good hotel and a great value for the money.

nice hotel, not-so-nice area - posted on 06/26/2006

The staff was friendly and very helpful with directions and recommendations. The breakfast was great and the bed was comfortable. You should bring your own pillows, though - theirs are quite small. It's a walk through a warehouse district to public trasportation. We could not cool our room down. It was very stuffy. Would've been unbearable if we could not have opened the windows. We woke to a jackhammer at 7:00 am outside our window and slept to the sound of dumptrucks. Nice hotel, but we wouldn't go back with our kids. Really ugly location, complete with panhandlers.

A great find! - posted on 05/01/2006

This was the only hotel we could find that allowed 5 adults at a reasonable price...it offers even more than a great price! Service at the front desk was awesome, it's close to everthing, has a super continental breakfast, free parking and our room was exceptionally clean!

Great value for families - posted on 04/10/2006

My second visit to this hotel was as good as the first. Great value. Easy on/off I93 and close to city. Spacious rooms, clean, friendly staff, good breakfast, secure parking. Only complaints: Can't close the drapes to make the room truly dark and room have only regular double size beds.

Great hotel, poor location - posted on 04/09/2006

We chose the hotel based on good traveler reviews and the fact that it claimed a shuttle bus to the Longwood Medical Center where my husband was having surgery. The shuttle is in constant use because this hotel is 15-20 min. from any T stop. The hotel is a better bet for tourists who don't mind touring the city with fellow passengers than for patients and families needing trips to and from the hospital. The room & breakfast were great - but off the beaten path.

Great for BU medical/dental interviewees - posted on 02/03/2006

Very convenient location for Boston Medical Center (incl. BU medical/dental schools), within very easy walking distance. Two convenience stores and a McD's across the street. A little extra walking will get you to some cool bars and trendy restaurants. Everything else is covered by the free van service. The staff goes out of their way to help you find places to go around town. I highly recommend it!

I really liked the design of the buliding. It is a great location for parents who have kids at Northeastern. The actual location is a little shaky and they need better parking

Nice City - posted on 01/05/2006

The hotel was nice. It was a little far away from the city where were went to and had to take taxis but overall we had a really great time. It had a seating area with a fridge, micro, sink, tv, and desk. The bedroom was nice and just the shape of the hotel was a cool thing to be in.

On the money, out of town - posted on 08/31/2005

The Roundhouse was a nice value. The room was spacious and the continental breakfast was better than expected. That said, the 'free shuttle' to the city was only available once. It is a 15 minute walk through warehouses to the T stop. Cabs were sparce, and we waited every day for transportation to the city. The airport shuttle was $5 per trip. We waited 45 minutes at the airport for the stuttle, but were on time on the way out. I'd only stay at the Roundhouse if you're looking for a good deal. Otherwise, stay in the city.

our stay - posted on 08/22/2005

The staff were very helpful, especially Richard at the front desk. The room was much smaller than expected and really it was difficult for 3 adults to have any privacy. The hair dryer was broken but promtly repaired. The shuttle drivers were terrific as was the service. A lousy end of town with no restaurants within walking distance and lots of panhandlers.

loccation, location, location - posted on 08/18/2005

We chose the hotel for price, free breakfast, and free shuttle service. The cost was excellent. The hotel routinely ran low on breakfast items. We waited over an hour for the airport shuttle. Because the hotel was packed, we never were able to use the shuttle to the T. Instead we walked through a seedy warehouse district. The rooms were clean and staff were ok. Noisy since it was a block from a hospital. Very convenient for on/off freeway use.

The red line is a 15 minute walk from the hotel. The area isn't clean. The rooms are large enough to hold a family of 5. Getting there is a challenge using their directions, because as you come off of 93S the exit 18 is the next exit and the traffic is bad.

Not the best experience - posted on 07/16/2005

The hotel went from bad to worse rapidly--our reservation was mnessed up & someone had to sleep on the floor. The pullout couch had socks in the sheets. The front desk brought pillow cases instead of sheets (3 times). Poor communication with front desk. 2nd room was missing sheets on a bed. Good Breakfast & excellent shuttle drivers, but lack of cleanliness.

Great location, free parking! - posted on 07/03/2005

Very good location, friendly staff, clean rooms, only problem - our room did not have shades to darken the room. Also getting use to the noise of the trucks outside took some effort.

Great Staff - posted on 10/05/2004

The staff at roundhouse were five star from the shuttle staff(Jose) to desk(Luz). Everyone was accomidating friendly, warm, inviting, courtious, and ready to help. I never heard no, or later from the mouths of staff. It was always let me see, can I help you, or we can set that up. Once Again, as a buisness traveler I choose those hotels that respond positively to their guests. Roundhouse exceeded that expectation. Thank you again, Steve Menyhay
