Customer Reviews for Omni Parker House

Wonderful stay - posted on 05/02/2006

We had a great stay at Omni Parker House and we plan on visiting next year and certainly will plan on staying here. Our room was small but was adequate and was all that we needed for our stay. I only wish we had been able to stay longer. The staff was terrific and I have only good things to say.

Omni added to our Boston visit - posted on 05/02/2006

Totally enjoyed our stay at the Omni Parker. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The beds were extremely comfortable! The atmosphere and history of the hotel added to the flavor of our "historical visit" to Boston. We were conveniently located within walking distance of many of the places we wanted to visit and Boston subway stations , which we used to travel for our return to the airport ($1.25 per person and faster than our cab which brought us in).The Boston Cream pie served at the hotel was the best! We enjoyed breakfast in the dining room on 2 mornings and were very pleased with the food and service. Also had a late afternoon light snack in the bar which was very good.We definitely would like to stay here again on another visit to Boston. (The price was right booking through hotelsby city).

1st Boston Experience - posted on 04/09/2007

The hotel was absolutely gorgeous! The staff was very helpful in helping us get to Fenway (which too far to walk to from the hotel but easy to access by subway). Everything else we wanted to see and do was in walking distance. Excellent location and atmosphere!

History at the Parker House - posted on 02/27/2007

The Paker House is the oldest hotel in Boston rich with beauty and history. Just a few blocks from the Quincy Market and directly on the Freedom Trail. The rooms are small but have triple sheeted beds with lovely linens. At check in, the children where given goodie bags which contained a postcard, photo frame, deck of cards, slinky, activity book and a plastic travel cup which could be filled for free at both the hotel restaurant and bar throughout your stay. This was our 2nd stay and we will certainly be back.

We had a wonderful time! This hotel definitely gives you the old time feel with modern conveniences. We were very impressed with the room. We just wish there wasn't construction going on next door. Other than that it was lovely!

this is a very nice hotel, but the walls are thin and there is alot of construction 24/7. we could hear the people in the adjoining rooms and coming down the halls.

Small Rooms - posted on 11/05/2006

The room was about as big as a postage stamp. Much too much for the price. I could not walk aroung the bed to get to the chair, the armoire with the 19" tv was in the corner and was about 5" from the corner of the bed. So, I had to crawl over the bed to get to the chair. I would not stay there again, for that price I would stay somewhere else.

smaller than walk-in closet - posted on 10/11/2006

I was distraught when I saw the room was smaller than my walk-in closet! It fits 1 double bed and had a Tv and chair wedged against the wall. There was literally about 1 foot of space between the sink and the wall - I had trouble blowdrying my hair wedged in between the wall and the sink -and I'm a size 2. When I asked for an upgrade I was told nothing was available.

Rooms too small - posted on 07/12/2006

Employees were very friendly and helpful. Opted for an upgrade from alley view to Treemont St. - not worth it. Got view of library across street along with traffic noise. Room apparently was bigger, but bathroom was extremely small. Nice lobby, good breakfast, good location, good staff. Best for business (free internet) or single traveller.

Location overcomes defecincies - posted on 07/11/2006

Historic Hotel, JFK lunched here, Historic figures stayed here. Rooms are small and no desks, smells old b/c it is old. Location within walking distance to Old Market/Boston Common/Metro Train. If you're going to be out and about in town, best bet.

Parker House Rave - posted on 07/11/2006

I stayed at the Parker House with my wife and two teenage kids. It was perfect! The location is great for covering the top tourist spots on foot and within an easy walk of the Boston Common, Public Garden, and Newbury Street. Rooms were very nice and the staff is pleasant.

This hotel is not only elegant and historic, but it is also within walking distant of all major attractions and the subway. We could not have picked a better hotel to experience Boston in. After a week here we felt like locals!

The hotel room was tiny, with no desk. For anyone traveling on business it would not be acceptable. I'll never stay there again.

Service/Location, this is the place - posted on 04/11/2006

My granddaughter and I chose Boston as our Spring break get away; and, the Omni Parker House as our base. The service was incredible, particularly the concierge who helped a first time visitor to Boston to learn the ropes of getting around the state. This is a Hotel that spells service with all caps. They were very cordial and extremely accomodating. The restaurant is definitely a treat with a 5 star menu and wine list.

Tiny but comfortable - posted on 04/10/2006

Unbelievably small, narrow room, but still functional and offset by good bathroom & fantastic bed (firm mattress, smooth sheets, multiple pillows of various sizes). Location within easy walking distance of almost everything you'll want to see, and a block from the Green Line T for more distant locations.

great honeymoon! - posted on 03/17/2006

We stayed here in August 2005 for our honeymoon, and really enjoyed our stay. When we checked in, the room was not what we expected - we had booked a suite. Within 15 mins. we had a beautiful suite. Everyone was courteous and helpful. The dining room left a lot to be desired, but room service was good. We tend to chose hotels based on their history and location rather than comfort or amenities, and this had it all. A staff member took me on an impromptu tour of some of the historic rooms above the main lobby, and was very sweet. Excellent visit over all!

Good location - posted on 01/20/2006

I love this hotel for location and price. And, the service is impeccable. The food on the other hand could use some improvement. A burger for $13.00 was cooked to the likings of a hockey puck. It was taken off the bill but I am still in shock that something like that could be served for $13.00.

Great way to see Boston - posted on 01/01/2006

This hotel is a wonderful choice when staying in Boston. It is within a 5-10 minute walk from just about anywhere in the city, the bar is great, the atmosphere and history are excellent. Just a fantastic place to stay, will definitely return!

I'll definitely stay there again. - posted on 12/30/2005

Nice bars/restaurants on site, beautiful lobby. My one caveat is that the hotel pumps up their location - stating they're "one block" from someplace, when in reality they're four or five blocks. With a location as central and convenient as the hotel truthfully has, there's no reason to fudge the specifics. You're still close to everything you want to see - just not quite as close as they promise, but still within walking distance. Bear this in mind, and you will have a great stay! I will be staying there again.

Very comfortable hotel in great location - posted on 12/28/2005

Smallish though well appointed room with turndown service. Join their Select program to get discounted breakfast and express check-in. Hotel has been refurbished in the last several years and is very comfortable and close to everything. I had a view of a wall out my window which I think is the common experience.

Beautiful Historic Hotel - posted on 09/12/2005

Omni Parker House has a gorgeous, ornate lobby. It is convenient to many things we wanted to see in Boston -- Quincy Market, Boston Common, sites along the Freedom Trail, & the fabulous restaurants & bakeries in the North End. The rooms are a bit small, but very comfortable. Parker's Restaurant had the best Boston Baked Scrod that we sampled anywhere in the city. We will definitely stay here next time we are in Boston.

Great Hotel - posted on 08/14/2005

This is a great hotel for tourists. Its location can't be beat. Its right on the Freedom Trail and within walking distance of everything. Only downfall is the rooms are a little on the small side, but if you are like us, we are there only long enough to sleep. Great Hotel, we would definately stay there again!

Nice Stay - posted on 07/30/2005

I was satisfied with the service and the treatment I received at the Omni Parker House. The doormen are very nice. They got acquainted with my face quickly so they greeted me in a familiar way, and that made me feel like home. I would defenitely recommend this hotel.

A night at the Omni Parker House - posted on 07/29/2005

While I was only at the Omni Parker House for one short nigh, I found the staff to be very courteous and quick to please. The Hotel itself had a lot of charm and old character, which I enjoyed. This being the case I was able to over look that the bathroom was very small expecially in comparison to the very large room I was in with double beds. The beds were very comfortable, but the room was not layed out well making it very difficult to watch TV while lying in bed. Overall my experience was very nice and I would consider staying at the Omni Parker House again when in Boston.

Old mixed with new - posted on 07/16/2005

The room was very small, but comfortable - had air cond, free internet, and great room service. The gym had older style resistance machines, only one bench, but plenty of cardio equip. The nice touches: fresh apples, towels, and free current magazines. For someone who lifts weights on a daily basis, it barely cuts it, but for cardio only people, it's just right. Overall, it was a comfortable stay for the discounted rate, but not worth the full rate. Located in the financial district of downtown...easy to catch a cab but not a great place to stay if you're renting a car (bad traffic).

Outstanding Experience - posted on 06/27/2005

The Parker House is the oldest continually operating hotel in the United States. It has classic charm and beauty. The lobby is elegant. It has so much more character than the regular Hyatt or Marriott. Of particular note was the helpful service from the conceirge. Not knowing Boston, we could have been wasted a lot of time and not seen the sites that make Boston memorable but the suggestions from the Parker House staff were very helpful Let me mention as well that this travel service saved us money. We paid $159 when the going rate was $279. We were very pleased. Two quick things to mention. First, make sure you get a "Deluxe" room. Even with this larger room, the bathrooms are quite small. The "European" room is "closet" sized. I would definitely stay at the Parker House again.
