Easy, Quiet, Unique, and Friendly - posted on 07/25/2006
We found our stay at this thoroughly delightful small-hotel to be easy, quiet, unique, and friendly. The physical location allowed us to quickly find, and check-in to the hotel; and as it was both easily accessed by subway and taxi-service, we maneuvered to and from venues without delay. Day and evenings, we were pleased to find this hotel quiet and peaceful, with nary a sound to interrupt our sleep. The unique size, architecture, and interior design of the Harborside Inn made this stop in Boston a pleasure. Our room, pleasantly furnished and decorated, was large enough to make us feel at home, and all fixtures were in fine working order. All staff members were eager to please. When asked, each staff member quickly assisted us in finding a perfect solution to our difficulty, and always in a pleasant and warm manner. We highly recommend this hotel for all of those who prefer the unique, the quiet, and the small; and upon visiting Boston in the future, we will happily reserve a room at the Harborside Inn of Boston!
Nice Stay Despite Poor Service - posted on 11/27/2006
Cute historic hotel in a great location! However, service was poor, due to rude front desk staff who didn't even apologize when we reported a cockroach in our room.

The room was great with wood floors and exposed brick walls. The architect did a fantastic renovation. The bed was small. You can walk everywhere. The front desk was basic but what do you expect when paying $150 less than adjacent hotels?
I loved it! - posted on 03/10/2006
From the moment I stepped into the Inn, I was assurred it was going to be a great stay. The Inn and specifically rooms were just as presented on line. The staff had an answer for all my questions; public transportation, late checkout, local business centers and even a good Bloody Mary. I never felt rushed. Housekeeping was superb. As it turned out, another friend had stayed there just the week before and we had no idea of each other's visit. Would recommend to everyone. Thanks for the welcome!

Fantastic location. Rooms not large but very nicely furnished and decorated and very clean and comfortable. Staff was very helpful and friendly without overdoing it. Really appreciated not having to fight off a bellhop as I can look after my own luggage and don't really like all that fussing. Thought it was a great place to stay and would highly recommend. Not cheap.
Won't be staying here again - posted on 08/20/2005
The reviews seem to be accurate. The front desk service is awful - not helpful, not knowledgeable, don't seem to care, and at times, rude. The rooms are small and without windows to the outside and are very stuffy. The location is convenient (across the street from the subway and 1 block from Fanueil Hall) but with the mass transit system the location doesn't come close to making up for the price of this hotel and the poor service. Next time I will stay a bit farther out from downtown and use the subway more. I won't be going back to this hotel.
My hideout - posted on 08/09/2005
I have stayed here many times in the past five years. It is a nice treat from the big commercial hotels. It is clean, quiet and trustworthy. The staff are friendly when I check in or leave my luggage in the "lock up" on Friday. The price is right and the food is superb when the restaurant is open. I actually look forward to being sent to Boston so I can stay here.
Excellent budget hotel for Boston - posted on 04/20/2005
Stayed only one night, and had no complaints. Small but very charming room with exposed brick walls. The bed was more comfortable than what you find at most cheap hotels. Subway station is literally right outside the hotel door. Also, hotel is in a nice historic area of downtown, only two subways stops from the airport. Would have liked to have had a bit more variety in the continental breakfast. I'll stay here again on my next trip to Boston.

I stayed at the hotel by myself for 3 days, rooms are small but okay. Location was great for what I needed. But front desk was of no help as far as finding places or calling a taxi. And I found the server in the restaruant - at least at breakfast time - quite stuffy
It was only OK - posted on 10/08/2004
We stayed here for 3 nights. Because of the location next to "the big dig," it was SUPER noisy everyday starting at about 5AM. The front desk service was TERRIBLE. They were borderline rude. No help at all to tourists like us. Rooms are small but clean. Food was good but the hours are SO limited! OK value.

Had a wonderful stay in the Harborside and would definitely recommend it even if you live in Boston like I do! I just wanted a night away, and it was lovely.
