I wasn't sure what to expect but we walked into a wonderful lobby with great service. Our room was very nice and clean. The bathrooms(there were 2) were extremely small but it had a very european feel. The conceirge was very helpful and it was in a great location
Coming Home - posted on 01/22/2007
My trip to Boston was to be with my brother who is currently going through Chemo at a local hospital, so my visit was not for "fun". However, staying in this hotel made "coming home" at night very comfortable and a pleasure. Everything from the food/bar and the room was a great experience.
MICE INFESTATION - posted on 08/23/2006
Never again will I stay there. We saw mice in the Cafe and then there were mice in my room. The staff was not concerned. We stayed on the 14th floor so for there to be mice in our room signifies a MAJOR problem!!! Don't stay there people!!!!
Great location - posted on 04/27/2006
An elegant hotel located in the perfect spot. 1 block from Boston Common, 1 Block from Newberry. Close to Freedom Trail. Must try a dessert at Finale (1 block), and a relax at Whiskey Bar (onsite). Plenty of restaurants and shops nearby.
Spring break in Boston - posted on 04/19/2006
This hotel was wonderful, with an excellent location. The lobby is beautiful and charming with a nightly piano player. The restaurants are amazing (but you have to go outside and down the block to enter some of them). The "Whiskey Park" bar/lounge leaves something to be desired. The staff was courteous and helpful. I wish the doormen were more conscientious at holding the doors open, and that someone would offer to help with your bags. All the tourism sites were within walking distance but we took the "T" to the fine arts museum. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Motel 6 would have been nicer! - posted on 05/31/2007
When you first walk into the hotel, you get the feeling that you do not belong there. The elegant crystal chandelier gives the illusion of a very swanky hotel. The dark dingy hallways tell a different story. The room was a matchbox in dire need of updating. The air-conditioner did not work and the walls were paper thin. The only saving grace was the location and the dual shower head with great water pressure. We had a great time in Boston and we did not let the hotel ruin our time. The Back Bay area is beautiful.
Would stay here again! - posted on 04/24/2007
We loved the Park Towers. We'd stay here again and are looking forward to coming back to Boston to do so. Subway is close by and the concierge didn't fail us on restaurant recommendations. Freedom Trail, Fenway Park, etc. all within either a walk or a T-ride a way. Can't wait to go back.

Stayed here last weekend and really enjoyed it. Very friendly people and service terrific location to see all you want
Bitter sweet. - posted on 04/02/2007
From what I read the hotel must have been redone. The lobby was stunning, some of the service was not as up to standard as you would expect, but alot of the charisma was great. My boyfriend and I had stayed only one night, the room was smaller than expected (I felt like I was on the Titanic though) I had troubles with no remote in the room, no room service menu, and our phone didn't quite work. The elevators we're kind of screwy at night, and didnt work well, however my boyfriend and I got to go in the service elevator! (I thought it was neat :) )
location - posted on 04/02/2007
The location is perfect for the Freedom Trail and the downtown crossing. Staff is helpful, but the bathrooms are small. The subway is under construction there so you have to get off sooner or go one stop later. They fail to tell you that. Be aware of the homeless problem at the park and subways. They don't come near the hotel however. Au bon pain downstairs is great for breakfast or a bite to eat.
Awesome Hotel - posted on 03/29/2007
The hotel ammenitites and staff service were outstanding. The fine restaurants, bars, and bakery located within the hotel's perimeter were an added convenience.
Boston Park Plaza - posted on 03/25/2007
This hotel was very well-located and the front desk was helpful in giving directions. The room was very nicely appointed and quite roomy - comfortable mattress and both soft and hard pillows! The only negative - bathroom had almost no space to set cosmetics or toiletries.

If you are going to spend the money to stay in Boston, try the Fairmont Copley Plaza, its 4 stars from the lobby to your room and the service is outstanding
Worst in 30+ yrs of traveling - posted on 02/19/2007
My wife and I rate it as the worst of bad hotels in the US and in over 50 other countries. The front desk staff repeatedly misled us and acknowledged misleading us (and did little to rectify errors). We tried being accommodating and ended up unable to sleep in a ?parlor suite??due to very short sofa beds with exposed springs and huge, hard pillows. The hotel was filthy. When the pizza slices on the lobby floor were pointed out only a superficial job cleaning job was done. The rooms are EXTREMELY small and unclean even for an older hotel.
Lovely historic hotel - posted on 02/13/2007
This is a lovely historic hotel that has been nicely renovated. Room a little small but very comfortable and thoughtfully laid out. Ditto for bathroom. Service was terriffic. Close to everything you want to go to. Had very good time there.
Dont stay here!!! - posted on 02/12/2007
We paid for a 2 person room, we were given economic single room. When my Husband asked for an explaination, the front desk told us we showed up at 1am. knowing this was a prepaid expensive 3 night stay. The staff was the worst that there can be. The room was extremely small and filthy. the carpet smelled and this applies to the rest of the hotel. we will NEVER stay at the Park Plaza hotel even for FREE.
'Small bathrooms - posted on 11/27/2006
Nice hotel with lovely lobby and nice restaurants. It was nice having two bathrooms, but they were extremely small. Hotel appeared to be in the middle of renovations, which were quite needed.
Don't waste money - posted on 11/19/2006
Room cold and thermostat didn't work correctly. You had to sit on the toilet sideways beause they put it against the bathtub. Bathroom was heated by steam that you couldn't shut-off so it was around 90 degrees. When we brought our complaints to the staffs attention they did nothing.
Great location - posted on 11/17/2006
Stay on the 15th floor (tower level or concierge lever) for a nice lounge with plasma TV's and free breakfast and evening appitizers. Go to Legal Seafood across the street and to McCormick and Schmidts in the hotel. Close to Copley Square, downtown, Chinatown, Beacon Hill (Cheers)--you can walk anywhere from here. The room was nice. You are in downtown, so expect to hear traffic.
GOOD EXPERIENCE - posted on 10/17/2006
We had a great experience. Location is fantastic, so convenient. The employee who helped us, ?, was wonderful. Excellent customer service. Our apartment did have a problem the first night in that the air conditioning did not work but maintenance fixed it immediately. The apartment was clean, size was enough (economy? 1 full size bed)and the price was better than anything we could find
fire alarms and elevators - not fun - posted on 09/17/2006
Both nights we stayed here, the fire alarm went off between 4:30 - 5am. "Get dressed, get ready to evacuate your floor". Five minutes later "False alarm". Both nights. Many were going to ignore the next one - not good. At 9am, only two out of 6 elevators were working to move people for three conventions, businessmen and tourists. Many were stuck on each floor, waiting to get to their meetings and airport.
Great Location - posted on 09/13/2006
Very classy hotel, with several very nice restaurants (although somewhat expensive), great location, close to "T" terminal, rooms were nice. I would definately stay here again.

Rather low quality for the money. The rooms were cold, carpet dirty and TV did not work. Parking is $40 (!) for 24 hours. Great location though.

The Boston Park Plaza is an a wonderful location adjacent to the Boston Common, and near to the subway as well as many restaurants. The lobby, restaurants and common areas are first class, but some of the rooms need upgrading.

A wonderful building and location with dire need for employees or management to run a hotel.. Incredibly poor service in every department on both days we stayed there. Felt like we were at a low budget motel!
Park Plaza Not up to standards - posted on 07/25/2006
My wife and I stayed as a getaway, and we booked a suite. 1st room had problems with the door, so we had to switch. 2nd room dirty and stained furniture. Morning breakfast was wrong and very cold. (Eggs). House keeping came knocking at 7:45am checkout day and woke us up to reset the room for the next guest. I noted my concerns to hotel desk, they just said ok and charged my card. We had spent 500+ on the room. I called the manager later from home and spoke to his assistant, who never called us back. We expected lots more from a hotel with this type of reputation and these prices.
Great Experience - posted on 07/25/2006
front desk people were all very kind and supportive in all our inquiries. was disappointed that the Hi-speed internet access was with charge and lobby wi-fi internet access not wrking for me. biz center was excellent when i need urgently to fax important docs. the 24x7 provision of taxi ready for boarding for 3am trip to airport. restaurants near hotel were superb...Machiacco italian resto, skybite seafood, the legal seafood inside Prudential mall (which was a near walking distance providing us access to good restaurants and good stores!)
Boston 2 days vacation - posted on 07/10/2006
The location is great, the lobby is good, but the bathroom in the room remined me of McDonalds's or a Gas station's restroom.
Staff Needs an Attitude Adjustment - posted on 06/01/2006
Besides the person at the front desk, a majority of the staff at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel were rude and unhelpful. My fiance asked the concierge for a newspaper; without even looking around for one, she responded with "we do not have one". Workers in the hotel were blocking the narrow hallway and seemed annoyed they would have to stop their converstaion to move for us. I found this very displeasing for the amount of money I spent on the room.
Boston for the Marathon - posted on 04/23/2006
Boston is awesome over Marathon weekend! The Park Plaza, though a reasonably nice hotel was generally overpriced over the Easter/Marathon weekend. The room was small, but the problem was the economy room did not have any closet or hooks for hanging coats or shelves/counter space in the bathroom for putting bathroom items. But the reason to be there wasn't hotel amenities, it was to be close to the marathon finish - and it certainly was! The hotel was easy walking distance to Quincy Market & the Freedom Trail giving plenty to do.

I went to Boston for business. Not likely to return. Everyone was rude or cold. This hotel was okay but the parking is very expensive.
Great stay - posted on 01/05/2006
I stayed at the Boston Park Plaza for 5 nights and had a wonderful time. the desk staff was kind and really helpful. The room was clean and not to small. The windows need improvement, because the cold air came in. But I had great vacations in a hotel which is right in the center of Boston.
Great stay - posted on 12/19/2005
My experience at Boston park Plaza Hotel was good. The hotel is very old, stately and well maintained. As one would expect, the rooms are small and consistent with an older property. At the same time my small room was very cozy and met my requirements for my overnight stay. Otherwise, the service was very friendly and I would stay there again.
A Trip to Beantown - posted on 11/22/2005
my stay at the boston park plaza hotel and towers was great. the staff was readily available and the hotel had a very charming atmosphere. the hotel's appearance is gorgeous and well renovated. i think that the room setup needs to be changeddue to limited space near and around the bed. other than that it was a great stay.
No Class - posted on 11/10/2005
I asked for a late check out time due to my flight time. I was told it would be no problem..for a $25 charge. After a 5 night stay, I don't expect to be charged for an hour & a half. For a supposedly high class hotel, a no class move. Desk staff stuffy to rude. The only people with personality, were the people cleaning the rooms.
Great location - posted on 11/02/2005
This hotel is in a great location, with easy access to the T and across the street from Boston Commons. The free meal we received had the worst service I have ever experienced in a city the size of Boston, however, the food was delicious. Overall a wonderful hotel, and the Red Sox "B" engraving on the shower faucet was a funny and nice touch.
good location - posted on 10/27/2005
This hotel is in a great central location, the room was clean (not new or fancy). The service was pretty lousy. We could not even get the bellmen to look at us. They were too busy talking. We carried all of our bags up ourselves and parked our care elsewhere.

Park Plaza Hotel - posted on 09/08/2005
great location - offers a lot - poor water pressure making it difficult to flush toilet
Unconcerned staff - posted on 08/18/2005
I found the staff to be uniformly unhelpful and unconcerned, even argumentative. The free meal came witht the worst service I have ever experienced. The room was 10' x14' - very small, had an odd odor, and overlooked an air shaft with loud ac units. The hotel location was great however. I think you can do better with all the hotel choices in Boston!

At BPP for 6 days for conference. If you like big plain all the same corporate look a likes this is not for you. Great arcitechture, amazing attentive staff, 5 great restaurants, tea in afternoon, great pub, 1/2 block from T stop, across from Commons. A not a cookie cutter hotel for not cookie cutter people!
