The above covers it all. Note that the ratings and comments above reflect the opinions also of my wife and daughter.Thanks for the opportunity to give feedback. We were particularly desirous of opining that its rating should be 2.5 or 3. As a trio we agreed on 3. There's no opinion for the restaurant simply because we did not use the facility.

Well located; room spacious (for old building) and charmingly decorated; staff (maids and front desk) friendly and helpful.

Lobby lame; no fitness room; hallways claustrophobic; not the 4-star level.

This hotel is great for someone who is used to european hotel standards. i.e. the elevator is tiny and old (not a problem for fit people who can take the stairs, which are quite grande and nice) but it would not be ideal for a young mother with a stroller, etc. I very much enjoyed the location, the old grandeur of the historic hotel, and the lovely bathroom (which was better than a 3 star bathroom). The linens were not great, but for the price, a great deal.

My room was very spacious, a great deal of natural light, and the internet was free (for own laptop).

There is some substantial renovating that needs to take place (peeling wallpaper, cosmetic things, but also structural firming of floors, etc).

If you are looking for a luxury hotel, you will not enjoy the Copley Square. However, if you want a clean hotel in a safe area that is close to Boston's attractions and nightlife, the Copley Square Hotel is a good choice. The Copley Square Hotel also has a bit more charm than the basic Boston "chain hotel."
