A pleasant stay - posted on 03/07/2007
Our room was clean and spacioius, with ample amenities. The hotel is very conveniently located near shopping, restaurants, and the T. We were in town to look at colleges for my daughter, and the location was great for that as well. I also enjoyed the exercise room and pool area -- again, clean and spacious. I would recommend this hotel to others.

This hotel had excellent service and comfort and was in a great location for walking around Boston

Hotel was wonderful and centrally located. Parking policy was confusing. If you use valet parking, charge it to the room. If you pay the valet instead they will charge you for every hour your car was left over 24 hours at $12 an hour. If you charge it to the room you're good until 5 p.m. the next day.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at an excellent facility with great location near tourist attractions and public transportation. Outstanding customer service. Gym, sauna and steam room were greatly appreciated. Highly recommend this hotel.
Worst Bed Ever ruined our stay. - posted on 11/27/2006
The Hyatt Regency Boston is ideally located in central Boston, an easy walk to Boston Common and the start of the Freedom Trail. Our room service meal was surprisingly delicious, albeit typically overpriced. Our special "corner room w/ an exclusive view" was mostly a rip-off, however, and the feather bedding was so lumpy it made both of us completely miserable despite our repeated efforts to make it tolerable. We couldn't wait to check out. The primary function of any hotel is a good night's sleep, and their horrendous bed made that impossible. Ergo, we cannot recommend this hotel.

This was the best hotel I have ever stayed in! Location was perfect with all of the tourist sites are within walking distance. Right next to Boston Commons and subway system is only a block away. Shopping is really close and I have nothing bad to say about this trip. You will miss out if you do not stay here.

You expect excellence from Hyatt and won't be disappointed. But the greatest thing is how close you are to the theater district - Blue Man Group is outrageous - and in-town rental car offices (that save big dollars over airport pick-up/delivery). Everything is very close to this hotel.

This is a very expensive hotel, however the free breakfast was outstanding. Dinner was also very expensive but perfectly cooked and presented.
Non smoking room was smokey - posted on 06/20/2006
I was amazed to see that after paying $300 for a non-smoking business room w/king sized bed, I got a room with two beds. It smelled like cigarettes and wireless had to be bought at an extra cost. Sorry, this is not my idea of a business friendly hotel.
Nice hotel, great staff, nice location - posted on 06/12/2006
I loved this place! Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. The concierge was especially helpful in recommending good places to eat. He didn't try to push their own restuarant onto us either. Its a very short walk to the start of the Freedom Trail. And its a short walk to the Common also. We didn't really see the "seedy" area another reviewer refer to it. We felt completely safe walking with our kids.
Everything I expected - posted on 05/03/2006
Having read previous reviews I knew what I was getting into. With the recent renovations everything was in top shape and I was very satisfied overall. Only complaint is slow elevators and bad elevator music
Can't Miss! - posted on 05/02/2006
You can't miss choosing this hotel for a visit to Boston. Its location is great for those who enjoy walking -- everything is within walking distance. Rooms were clean and comfortable and service was excellent. Make an appointment for a massage in health and fitness facility. Best massage ever and was perfect after four days of walking Boston and Cambridge. When we go back it will be to this hotel!

My recent trip into Boston was a huge sucess and was helped by this hotel. Not only was the price reasonable but the atmosphere around the hotel was perferct, an excellent blend of eclectic styles to come up with a truly unique hip hotel. I have never had a hotel experience like it. The in hotel restaurante was also good. The whole atmosphere provided an excellent Valentine's weekend excursion.

The Hyatt Regency is in the heart of Boston. It was terrific to be able to walk to Faneuil Hall, the theatre, the Boston Common, and the shopping area of Washington street. The lights and decorations were beautiful. Traveling with a 4 year old, she was delighted with the scenery. The hotel was extremely clean and offered an indoor pool that is perfect for a little one. Great stay. We'll make this an annual.
Very good experience - posted on 12/30/2005
Nice property, fairly priced considering the location. Easy to Chinatown, mass transit, Boston Common, downtown shopping. Gift shop for snacks is expensive, but a 24 hour 7-11 store right down the street.

This was absolutley the nicest & friendliest hotel I've ever used. Close to everything, T system & all. Great food & nice, internationally diverse staff. This is definitely where we'll be staying on our Boston trips!!
good location, lacks view - posted on 11/30/2005
The hotel room was nice, it was newly renovated. The view was not good, we tried to change rooms but none were available. The parking was expensive, $36.00 for valet over night. The staff was nice.

We were so delighted to find the Hyatt Regency Boston so centrally located. We walked to the Boston Common, Newbury Street,Quincy Market and the Theater District. We also found Avenue One a very fine dining experience. The best feature of all was our lovely room, beautifully decorated and lovely bedding including a featherbed ! We highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely stay there again.

Booked a special corner room with wraparound view of Boston for special getaway. Upon arrival the front desk unceremoniously bumped us to a regular room. The concierge was useless. On the other hand the manager was very helpful and the restaurant was FABULOUS, probably one of the best meals&service I've ever had including NYC. Bellstaff was GREAT and so polite.
Friendly and convenient - posted on 10/06/2005
Chose this hotel after much research - very happy with decision. Location was a convenient walk from many things - Fanueil Hall, North End, Copley Place, etc. None of these were more than 15 minutes away. Room was quite nice - down comforters, feather beds and pillows. Pretty bathroom, good water pressure, poor lighting for makeup. The staff was also friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again on a return trip to Boston, especially considering the price was lower than comparable hotels.

Located in a seedy neighborhood- although convenient to the Boston Commons. Annoying design with lobby on third floor. Every trip to and from room required two separate elevator rides-what a waste of time!
Great Hotel - posted on 07/07/2005
Wonderful hotel close to walking distance of everything in Boston. The Concierge staff is excellent with great ideas, directions... I took my boys. We stayed on the 22nd floor - great view and the bed is the best!

Great bed, but couldn't sleep - posted on 04/01/2005
When I firt walked into the room and saw the bed, I thought this room was too good to be true. The next morning at 7am, I KNEW it was. The hotel is apparently remodeling the 7th floor, and we were on the 8th.We were not told about the working OR the noise. The drilling, banging, hammering, etc. started at 7am and didn't end until the evening. The services and restaurant were wonderful.
surprised - posted on 02/24/2005
Was pleasantly surprised. Really enjoy Hyatt hotels but was concerned when we drove up as it is not much from the outside. They are undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation and the room floors have fresh paint, carpet, etc..Rooms are comfortable and the bed was tremendous (heavenly type bed). Location is close enough to walk, cab or T stop it to anyplace in the city. For a 'base camp' it was excellent.
We Will Return - posted on 04/28/2004
My husband and I came to Boston for only one night specifically for the Van Morrisson show. We did not spend a lot of time in the hotel, we did not dine or use any of the facilities at the hotel therefore I cannot rate anything except the room. The rooms were spacious, clean and very comforatable beds. The concierge was very helpful. The rate was reasonable and I would stay here again.
