Massachusetts State Guide

Stunning scenery, historic events, great vacation spots and amazing food – those are only a few of the things you’ll be able to enjoy while visiting Massachusetts. You’ll soon see why it’s affectionately known as the Bay State. Some of the many added benefits of having so much water at your fingertips are the great activities you can enjoy and the amount of seafood you can devour.

Map of Massachusetts

Although there are many skyscrapers and modern buildings throughout the state, Massachusetts has carefully preserved its historic buildings. Today the vast majority of these restored treasures have been turned into quaint restaurants, fantastic boutiques and the latest nightclubs. There are also stunning homes that showcase the era they were built in with one of the best examples being the House of Seven Gables. Of course not all of Massachusetts’ history brings back fond memories. The infamous Salem Witch Trials have now been created into wonderful reenactments that provide insight to what the ‘hearings’ must have been like.

Anyone who claims to be a baseball fan has heard about Fenway Park. Cheer on the Red Sox and enjoy watching one of America’s favorite sports. Basketball diehards will enjoy coming to Massachusetts as well. Its claim to fame is being the birthplace of the sport and the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame showcases its history. For the smarty pants traveling with you, a stop to Harvard or Massachusetts Institute of Technology campuses might be in order. Even if higher education isn’t on one of your top ten lists, the campuses are quite beautiful and are worth visiting.

Whether it’s Massachusetts Bay, Cape Cod or Martha’s Vineyard you’ll love exploring the waters surrounding Massachusetts. Go whale watching, see historic lighthouses, play on the beach or go sailing. Enjoy delicious meals made with fresh seafood and the beauty of Massachusetts surrounding you. If you need a break from the ocean and bays you can easily spend your time shopping, visiting museums, enjoying the sites and skiing in the mountains. No matter what time of year you visit Massachusetts has a wealth of activities just waiting for you to explore.
