The 220-room Marriott Bethesda provides luxury accommodation for the upmarket business and pleasure traveler. The 10-story, non-smoking full-service hotel is adjacent to the Metro system enabling easy access to Washington DC. The hotel has the largest ballroom in Maryland,a 130-seat amphitheater and 12 meeting rooms. Area landmarks and attractions include five golf courses, the Bethesda Navy Hospital, the Mormon Temple, American University, the National Zoo, Washington Monument, the Smithsonian museums, Lincoln Memorial, the Capitol Building, Holocaust Museum and the White House.

Guests who paid $350 a night said this was an excellent Marriott but it was expensive. There were also additional charges for Internet access and parking. The rooms were wonderful and the service excellent. Other clients found deals which is made it more affordable. All the guestrooms, and five suites, have a work desk with high-speed Internet access, Internet browser television with cable movie and news channels, pay-per-view movies, alarm clock, tea and coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, bathrobes and telephone with voicemail.

The hotel’s Meritage Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and room service is available from 6am until 11pm. The On the Rocks bar and restaurant serves lunch and dinner and has large screen televisions. There is an indoor swimming pool and a fitness center. The 24-hour front desk has safe deposit boxes. Other amenities include a concierge desk, a full service business center, valet dry-cleaning, an ATM and a gift shop and newsstand.

From Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) 20 miles: Take George Washington Parkway to I-495N. Merge onto I-270 and take Democracy Boulevard East Exit. Turn left on MD-187/Old Georgetown Road. Turn right on Executive Boulevard. Turn left on Marinelli Road where the hotel is located.
