The 407-room newly renovated Bethesda Marriott provides quality accommodation at an affordable price equally suited to the business traveler or families on vacation. The 15-story, non-smoking hotel is just minutes from downtown Bethesda, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the downtown Washington DC area. There are 27 meeting rooms available for business of social functions. The largest, the Grand Ballroom, can accommodate 500 guests. Area landmarks and attractions include five golf courses, the Bethesda Navy Hospital, the Mormon Temple, American University, the National Zoo, Washington Monument, the Smithsonian museums, Lincoln Memorial, the Capitol Building, Holocaust Museum and the White House.

Visitors to this Marriott say it is a very busy property but the rooms are quiet and comfortable. Several clients suggest the rooms in the back wing, not the in the tower, are better and have their own elevator. Some guests complained that there were delays waiting for the tower elevator. All the guestrooms, and eight suites, have a work desk with high-speed Internet access, Internet browser television with cable movie and news channels, pay-per-view movies, alarm clock, tea and coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, bathrobes and two-line telephone with voicemail.

The hotel’s Agio’s Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and room service is available from 6am until midnight. The Java Lobby Bar is open throughout the day. There is an outdoor heated swimming pool, indoor pool and a fitness center. The 24-hour front desk has safe deposit boxes. Other amenities include a concierge desk, a full service business center, coin-operated laundry, valet dry-cleaning, an ATM and a gift shop and newsstand.
