This hotel is elegant, clean, comfortable and the staff is friendly. Paulette in the restaurant was particularly helpful with my restrictive diet. This hotel is terrific and I prefer all the hotels in Bethesda to those in Rockville, particularly the Doubletree which doesn't hold a candle to this Marriott.

The staff was very very friendly and helpful.

The only problem was a noisy party in the ballroom but it ended by midnight so it wasn't so bad.

Location and extra amenities such as free coffee and newspaper.

No one at the hotel seem to know anything about directions to the hotel!

The 407-room newly renovated Bethesda Marriott provides quality accommodation at an affordable price equally suited to the business traveler or families on vacation. The 15-story, non-smoking hotel is just minutes from downtown Bethesda, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the downtown Washington DC area. There are 27 meeting rooms available for business of social functions. The largest, the Grand Ballroom, can accommodate 500 guests. Area landmarks and attractions include five golf courses, the Bethesda Navy Hospital, the Mormon Temple, American University, the National Zoo, Washington Monument, the Smithsonian museums, Lincoln Memorial, the Capitol Building, Holocaust Museum and the White House.

Visitors to this Marriott say it is a very busy property but the rooms are quiet and comfortable. Several clients suggest the rooms in the back wing, not the in the tower, are better and have their own elevator. Some guests complained that there were delays waiting for the tower elevator. The rates are reasonable and the service good. There were complaints that the $9.95 daily Internet charge was excessive since the service tended to be v e r y s l o w.
