Nice Hotel But... - posted on 11/28/2006

The Pier V Hotel's major assets are the great location (which is a short walking distance from the Inner Harbor and Little Italy), the friendly staff, and the attractive rooms and lobby. Two excellent restaurants (McCormick and Schmick's and Ruth's Chris Steakhouse) are attached to the hotel. My major complaints were the noisy heating and aircondtioning system and the $9.95 "destination charge." The destination charge included free long distance, free internet access and free shuttle, but if you do not use those services it is irritating to have to pay it.

Nice hotel - posted on 10/24/2006

The hotel is very centrally located, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, and even the "city view" room was nice and quiet. The shuttle was great. My only complaint is that I didn't know about the "destination fee". When I called to ask about internet, I was told that it was $9.95 per day, so I didn't bother to take my laptop. What I didn't realize is that the hotel bundles a bunch of services (including internet, phone calls and shuttle) into one fee that is NOT optional (and not part of the rate you pay)!

Great attitude, poor performance - posted on 08/30/2006

Staff was great, but lobby was dirty, party "leftovers" stayed WAY too long on entryway. Comfy room, but $9.95 daily extra charge was nonsense!

Great location, average hotel with good rates. - posted on 08/29/2006

Excellent location to the inter harbor. Ceiling leaked in hallway and our curtain to the outside door fell off hinges. Average room with lots of room. Very confortable bed.

Worst part was leaving! - posted on 03/27/2006

Honestly. I am going to start a fund. It is going to be titled, "Help Sam Achieve her dream of Moving Into the Pier 5!" Coolest decor ever. Very retro-modern. I have never seen anything like it before. Stunning. Everything was new and beautiful. Prime location to all of the major Baltimore attractions (right NEXT DOOR to the aquarium!). Ruth Chris and McCormick and Schmicks were attached... Free activities going on in the lobby every day- like the chocolate fondue bar. "Crabby Hour" was another- Loved every second I was there- amazing experience-

Pricey but... That's the Going Rate - posted on 07/15/2005

We've stayed here 3 times in the past 18 months. This is our favorite couples retreat location. Every member of the staff has always been superb. Ruth's Chris Steakhouse just opened as well.

I would not stay in this hotel again. It was OK but not for the price. The carpets, curtains, and furniture were very worn. I was dissapointed.

Big Disappointment - posted on 03/27/2005

Our "Harbor View" room had a brick wall to the harbor. The only window faced other rooms! Bathroom worse than a $29 motel. Heater was loud but still didn't heat the room. We asked to change rooms, but staff never responded. Location is great, and staff friendly. Breakfast good. But price way too high for what you get. Watch out for unannounced $5 "connectivity fee." Desk cancelled it on my request.

Excellent Service - posted on 02/21/2005

I took my husband to the Inner Harbor for his 35th Birthday. I rec'd a good deal for the area. Staff more than helpful w/reservations and activities. Didn't receive any bad service down to the valet, bell hop and cleaning staff. Concierge called before trip and booked everything for us she recognized me from my voice at the check in desk. Very impressed. Will stay again soon great location.

My experience... - posted on 02/02/2005

Came here for Anniversary. Hotel is very over-priced, restaurants not part of hotel and don't treat clients as such.No snack shop or machines in the whole hotel and parking charge is OUTRAGEOUS! Room was very dirty especially bathroom, found hair and ants! Dust balls all over the room. For the price, not a place I would spend my next Anniversary.
