Best location for nightlife. - posted on 04/24/2007
My husband and I went on the Godiva Getaway weekend and had the best time. The hotel is charming and comfortable and the staff was fun and helpful. Great location for bars and nightlife.

I had one of the best hotel stays in my career. The service and staff are great.

The "Resident Ghost" was very entertaining. Room was spacious and quiet. Location is great with easy access to the water taxi.

Safe area and lots to do! You can walk to the Harbor, lots of local night life, shopping, GREAT cheap lunch spots! Excellent staff service, FREE ghost tour (fun!), for $10 a day you get internet that works, free shuttle to harbor & more!
noise - posted on 09/11/2006
Our room faced the street and bars. Cab drivers lined up outside and were busy talking and honking their horns until 2: AM. There was nothing the staff could do for us. There were no other rooms available, so we were told. It was a nightmare!

While my room was pretty nice (I particularly liked how each room was named for a famous/historical Baltimorean), I was left a bit cold by the service. Every time I asked the "Experience Specialists" for recommendations on what to do with my spare time, where to eat and how to get tickets for events, I got a blank stare or a vacant smile of a perfectly nice employee who wasn't sure how to respond. Hotel has a GREAT location, right by the harbor and water taxi service.

I checked in at 4:00, and was immediately treated to two "ghosts" serving high tea. Their knowledge of the house and area were excellent. The room was large, comfortable, clean and beautiful. The bar downstairs was friendly and breakfast next morning was delicious.

My wife and I had a romantic get-a-way with all the extras taken care of by the Experience Specialist. She even considered our dogs' needs which were also welcomed. Great room with an awesome view. The shuttle to Johns Hopkins Medical Center was a plus too.
Nice but... - posted on 08/31/2005
Great location... nice room... a little expensive. Silly "communication charge"" which allowed us to use a computer in the lobby for Internet access. Most hotels in this price range have free wireless access.

There was a transient fee. I guess if didn't stay long enough. I stayed for 2 nights and was charged $X as a TRANSIENT fee which I wasn't told about until I checked out and I did not get a chance to look at my bill until I was on the shuttle to catch my plane. I think that is a rip-off!!!!
Nice stay dispite the noise - posted on 05/15/2005
Room was nice and clean. This hotel is in Fells Point, but it was very easy to jump on the water taxi just across the street to get to the inner harbor, Fort McHenry, etc. Fells Point has its own small strip of shops and bars. Sigificant noise, both inside hotel and outside on the streets below. Outside noise died down when the bars closed. I was awoken in the wee hours of the morning by some "partying" people who were on the wrong floor and then directly above me when they finally made it to the right room. My stay was over July 4th weekend probably had more partying going on than usual.
Will not return - posted on 03/23/2005
Excessive wait for valet to return car (20 minutes); no coffee in room with coffeemaker; only 1 coat hanger in closet; tub drained poorly while taking shower.
