Night Away From the Kids - posted on 06/19/2006

Had a great time. Romance package was wonderful. We got married 15 years ago and stayed at the Hyatt, and wanted to come back for our 15th anniversary.

If you want to be right next to the inner harbor and no need for a taxi - this is the place to stay. Restaurants are all around within walking distance.

Friendly Staff and Clean Rooms - posted on 09/17/2006

When you are greeted at the Hyatt, you are greeted with friendly staff. The are very personable and helpful. We stayed on the 14th floor and the view was awesome. The room was super clean, the bathroom was spotless and I just love the soap that they provide, it smells wonderfully clean. Plus there is a little bottle of scope for your use. I like the use of the wire shelving under the sink in the bathroom, it keeps items neat and orderly. My husband and I would stay there again. It was well worth the money.

Unsatisfied - posted on 08/10/2006

The breakfast buffet was not good. The eggs were very watery and when advised, they failed to correct it. Not a wide variety to choose from. The biscuits were cold. To sum it all off, the breafast was poor. The wait for a elevator was also poor. There were four but it seemed only 2 were working. For the money I spent for this hotel I have to say I was dis-satisfied.

Great Trip - posted on 07/24/2006

Everyne was pleasant from the time we arrived to the time we left. My children, 10 & 14, loved the harbor view and the pool. The valet parking was worth it. The one time when our car wasn't ready when we got to the front we waited in the lobby and the valet came and got us 3 minutes later...service is excellent! Definately would return to this hotel.

A beautifully renovated hotel with a wonderful staff. The rooms were well decorated, quite and clean. The staff was anxious to please. Central location near food, activities, shopping. A perfect visit... would definitely stay here again!

Great hotel! - posted on 05/17/2006

My husband and I went to stay this past weekend and we really enjoyed our room. We were booked for a king room, which wasn't available upon checkin, but we were upgraded to a double room with a harbor view which was fine with us. The rooms are newly redecorated and beautiful. The harbor view was much appreciated. The only downfall was hearing some noise from neighboring rooms.

Hyatt - Baltimore Review - posted on 09/04/2005

This may in fact be a great hotel, but I can't say it was or wasn't. I had reserved a room in this hotel because it was the only hotel connected to the convention center with a non-smoking room available. Because my son was participating in the Otakon activities for the first time at the Baltimore convention center, including late-night, this was a required safety feature. I had initially planned on using this stay as an extended weekend getaway for myself and had planned on using some of the luxury features advertised as being available at the hotel; luxury features I don't generally get to enjoy because I travel so much for business and simply cannot justify the cost, which I have to pay myself. Unfortunately, my initial negative impression of Baltimore itself upon arrival, the extreme humidity and coupled with the feeling that the valet was way too pushy to the extent that I thought he was trying to steal my vehicle when I opened my door in order to register and get my pre-paid self-parking pass and I had to literally tell him to back off, I actually left the city early the next morning and did not return until Sunday evening, just in time to pick my son up and return home the following morning. Since my son was too busy at the convention center to eat in the hotel's restaurants or partake of any of the entertainment, I cannot fairly review any of these hotel features. On the sole merit of the room, I would have to say it was not worth the $200/night that I paid, but I presume all rooms in Baltimore are what I consider outrageously overpriced, much like New York City. I have stayed at other chains as well as independent hotels around the US and Canada, having had much larger rooms with more luxurious accomodations and even free hot, chef-cooked breakfasts, for less. Most of the convention center events that we have participated in around the U.S. get special rates (special codes to use at reservation time) from the local hotel chains, however this was not

Front desk shaky - posted on 06/16/2005

Other than quite a bit of confusion concerning my room by the front desk the hotel is fine. They had a decent gym and the bar made a good martini. Parking is quite expensive although my room rate included self parking

Didn't live up to expectations - posted on 05/29/2005

For a $X a night room, I expected more. It was a little on the small side. At least the AC system was quiet, the quietest I've ever had in a hotel room. When neighbors ran the shower, the whining pipes in the walls were pretty loud, it woke me up. I had breakfast on the 3rd fl. restaurant, very expensive and not good food. $18 a day to park was annoying. I guess what your paying for here is location, it's right downtown, a nice 8-10 minute walk to Camden Yards through a decent area, no need to be scared at night. The building itself was nice, and so was the staff.

Very nice! - posted on 04/06/2005

The room didn't have a direct view of the water, but we could see the harbor reflected in the windows on the other side of the building...cool! Elegant and enjoyable place.
