Maryland State Guide

The beautiful state of Maryland has something unique to offer every traveler. It played an important role in America’s history, there is an abundance of natural beauty and there are a lot of shopping venues. Plus, Maryland is famous for its delicious seafood. How can it not be with the Atlantic Ocean and Chesapeake Bay as its neighbors?

Nature lovers are thrilled that part of the stunning Appalachian Trail runs through Maryland. The beautiful Gunpowder Falls State Park spans over 15,000 acres and is another natural playground for the young, and young at heart. Enjoying the waters that border Maryland is a definite must. Spend a relaxing day on the beach, go sailing or deep-sea fishing. The coasts are lined with great communities eager to show off their local dishes made with the catch of the day. In general though this entire state is filled with fantastic fishing holes, harbors, hiking paths and whatever other outdoor adventures you’re searching for. Rather have someone else do the exercising? You could always relax while you enjoy watching a great Baltimore Oriels game.

The Beall-Dawson House is a wonderful historic building as is the stunning St. Mary’s Church.

Many of the entertainment areas throughout Maryland are filled with wonderful boutiques, great restaurants and unique performing art venues. Those who enjoy shopping will definitely need to make a stop at the Lexington Market, which is one of the largest in the world. Art enthusiasts can stroll down the Bethesda Art Walk and see the artists line the streets with their latest creations. Home to one of the oldest State Houses in the nation, there is a wealth of stunning architecture throughout the entire state. There are also fantastic examples of newer buildings as well.
