Overall a nice hotel with great staff, very clean and inviting.

Staff was very professional.

Although room service was listed as being open until 11pm, was told at 10pm room service was closed.

Hard to locate (kind of tucked off the main road) but it was really a great place to stay. I forgot a few items and they helped me very graciously. The room was really comfortable and quiet. I'd definitely stay there again.

The heat cycled on & off in a loud way (only exception to the quiet of the room).

In addition to being a very nice and well maintained hotel, the staff was very courteous and helpful. I needed directions for the old port area and, though they were very busy with a tour bus, I received excellent directions from one of the clerks at check in desk. Our room was elegantly decorated and very comfortable. We would definitely stay at this hotel again and recommend it to anyone.

The hotel was very well maintained and the room was elegant, clean and comfortable.

I can't think of anything that I did not like about this hotel.

The 222-room Marriott Portland at Sable Oaks is nestled on the hill of the scenic Sable Oaks community, and just minutes from historic downtown Portland. The pet-friendly, non-smoking property offers full facilities for both the business and leisure traveler in a metropolis that is one of the most appealing cities in northern New England. The six-story hotel is adjacent to the Maine Shopping Mall and an 18-hole golf course. The property has nine meeting rooms for business and social functions. The largest, the grand ballroom, can accommodate up to 500 people. The hotel operates a complimentary shuttle to Portland Airport and to the nearby shopping mall.

Does HotelsByCity recommend this hotel?

Several former guests at this Marriott hotel say it is one of their favorite places to stay. They admit there were less expensive places tp stay but said the quality accommodation and tremendous service warranted the prices charged here. Ladies loved the location close to upmarket shopping and said the quiet setting of the hotel made it a wonderful place to relax after a visit to the mall.
