Customer Reviews for Four Points by Sheraton Bangor Airport

Nice Accomodations/Great Food/Good Service - posted on 02/06/2006

We stayed overnight at the Four Points as we had an early flight the next day. Since the hotel is adjacant to the airport, it is very convenient for next-day travel. I thoroughly enjoyed dinner at the hotel restaurant and utitilized room service, which was quick and the personnel were very friendly. The bed was very comfortable and it was nice to have coffee in the room since the flight was sooo early in the morning. I would not hesitate to stay there again. I opted for the 'Park and Fly' which was great because it was prepaid and there was no wait when we returned home.

Top Notch Service - posted on 05/10/2007

My husband and I must travel to Bangor frequently. We have stayed in almost all of the hotels/motels, but we find ourselves coming back to the Four Points again and again. True, the public areas could use a bit of refurbishing, but it is our understanding that they are in for a major renovation next spring. The staff knows us by name and is always so thoughtful. We love this place!

The only thing that possibly would have made it better was a light breakfast area with coffee, bagels etc

Best in Bangor - posted on 11/29/2006

I, too, am compelled to write after the original review. My husband and I have lived in the Bangor area for 20 years. We occasionally get away for a quiet weekend. After staying at all hotels, we found this to be the best - the beds are superior, the room service excellent, staff very helpful, rooms quiet. I write from experience - superb hotel!

Okay Place - posted on 09/15/2006

After reading reviews I felt compelled to write. I have stayed here twice. Beds and bedding are all new and really great. I do think general repairs to the building are probably needed but it did not impact my stay. Elevator carpet is dirty and it smells like machine oil. I had a broken heater but they immediately moved me to a new room. Nice staff, very pleasant, room was clean. Room service was excellent and restaurant was great also.

Home away from home - posted on 08/05/2006

Some of the service was excellent and we were very well cared for on the whole but due to a misunderstanding our beds were not made and towels not changed, so I have given 4 rather than 5. Katie and the gentleman whom I think was called Tom were excellent.

Nice place - posted on 07/01/2006

After reading reviews and staying here myself i have seen that people are way too fussy. The hotel is close to the airport and is meant for business people and travellers. The staff is nice and calm as I watched one of the clerks get yelled at for a matter she had no control over. The food is great and I reccommend this place to anyone who needs a place to get out ealry in the morning

Save your money - posted on 05/16/2006

You'd think this would be the best hotel in Bangor. It has fallen in to utter disrepair and the staff seems hardly trained at all. The bathrooms were only cleaned once in my 2 night stay. The beds were not made properly, rather they were just thrown together. I called for extra towels but I did not get them. Being near the airport is great if you have an early AM flight, but not so great if you don't, as you'll wake up to roaring jets (oh, the airport is also an Air National Guard base). All in all, save your money and head into town for your stay.

3rd Boxcar - posted on 11/16/2005

As the song says thrid boxcar mindnight train, destination Bangor Maine. Table Falling apart, drain does not work in bath. Maids refused to clean room and could not provide clean glasses for second night stay. This place needs more than one upgrade.

This hotel needs supervision. Tub drain was removed. No room service after first night. Table has broken leg. Heater needs fan lube. Request for maid service not met. Furnishing need upgrade. Breakfast good but do not eat bar fare between meals. In short the type of place your put up in when your flight is cancelled

I have to travel to Bangor monthly on business. From the Front Desk staff to the restaurant staff in the Wright Bros. American Grill -- everyone is so friendly and has come to treat my as family. They just recently renovated all their sleeping rooms and have the new Four Comfort Bed. The food in the Wright Bros. is the best I've had in Bangor, and believe me, I've tried ALL of the restaurants in town. You couldn't ask for a better place to stay as a home away from home.

A Pleasant Stay - posted on 06/16/2005

We did not eat or avail ourselves of many of the ammenities at the hotel. It was a very brief stay. I have stayed at many Sheratons in the past and have always found them to be excellant. The only reason the room wasn't perfect is because it was rather small.

Not worth the money - posted on 02/15/2005

We have stayed in this hotel 3 times and only once when we had a corner room was it quiet. The other 2 times we could hear conversations word for word in the next room. Also, they are renovating the hotel and our "non-smoking" room had apparently been a smoking room before the renovation and still smelled strongly of smoke.

It's next door to the airport, and the rooms are clean and quiet. If you have to fly out early in the morning, it's a good place to stay the night before.

Room Details - posted on 10/06/2004

Several of the light bulbs were burned out. The miniture refrigerator was worthless. It was loud when the compressor went on and off and woke me up consistentely. I thought it was the alarm clock. It was very nice to be across from the airport. That is the only good thing going for this hotel.
