There are wonderful quaint communities of the Northshore, where you'll find beautiful homes, great restaurants and exceptional antique stores. Antique dealers from all over the United States come to Slidell in April and October. Something else you may want to do is take a tour of the 250-square-mile Honey Island Swamp which is in its original condition. Another interesting attraction is the 1,500 acre Carousel Gardens at City Park. You'll be on the quiet side of the lake when you stay at the Hampton Inn hotel in Slidell.
