EXCELLENT Hotel - posted on 04/12/2005
Absolutely EXCELLENT hotel, except for very high parking/valet charges. The room was perfect, most comfortable bed I've seen in a hotel, very responsive staff, great pools and gym, and excellent breakfast buffet in lobby-level restaurant. Safe, secure, and quiet. Close to everything. We will definitely stay here next vacation trip to New Orleans.
Great hotel, great city - posted on 05/14/2007
Great location for exploring the French Quarter without being in the middle of the chaos. We have stayed the last two years for Jazz Fest. The staff is always friendly and helpful. This year we had a slight problem with air conditioning, but maintenance did fix the problem when notified.

nice hotel, but the rooms are very small - you trip over your luggage. Breakfast buffet excellent, with cook-to-order omelettes. They are aggressive in enforcing no-smoking policy (I got caught, and fined!, when a visitor smoked in our room)
Great New Orleans hotel - posted on 02/16/2007
The hotel is on Canal on the edge of the French Quarter, so it is a little out of the madness, which is a good thing. The Elite floor was great. Best bed we have ever slept in, nice furnishings and great toiletries from Bed and Bath. We have stayed here before several times, and this place is always great. They are in the middle of a major refurbishing, so it is just going to get better.

Great hotel newly refurbished since Katrina, but I should not hear the phone ring in the room next door. Excellent location for the French Quarter, CBD and the riverfront.
MIXED FEELINGS - posted on 12/13/2006
Our room was small but very nice. Location is GREAT! Staff was mixed. We had exceptional service from some staff members. However, there were many times that some of the staff made you feel that you were interrupting their day by asking a question. Location was walking distance from all the great spots in the quarter.
Great location but your car is held hostage - posted on 07/28/2005
The hotel has great facilities. Rooms clean, with in top shape furniture. Food at restaurant was good specially the breakfast buffet. People at the bars and retaurants were courtious and prompt. The one thing that bothered me was the parking, the cost is too high, they hold your car hostage, you can't go get you own car. And to make it worse the people they have tending the parking are in need of a serious attitude adjustment.
Substandard Service, Exorbitant parking rates - posted on 12/13/2004
They don't tell you they charge $25.00 per day for parking. Valet is supposed to be a convenience, here they hold your car hostage. If you are on a business trip, you probably won't care because you aren't paying for it. For regular people however, the $25.00 per day parking ripoff is unforgivable. Plus, you'll have to wait an hour in line just to get your car.
Good Choice - posted on 10/14/2004
I stayed at this hotel for a large conference and found it quiet and clean. The healthclub is one of the best I have ever seen at a hotel!!!! Fantastic location and friendly staff.
Excellent experience - posted on 10/07/2004
I attended a conference here and would stay here again. Location is excellent: on edge of French Quarter so close to everything without all the noise. Upon arrival I found room not cleaned to Marriott standards, called Head of Housekeeping, she inspected room, had every inch cleaned and carpets shampooed, and sent treats to room. She also showed me sample redecorated room which will be beautiful when updates begin 11/04. Food is good, comfy rooms, good service.
