The 220-room Marriott New Orleans Metairie is located on the shores of Lake Pontchartrain and provides luxury accommodation designed for the upmarket business and pleasure traveler. Items included with the room rate at this 16-story, non-smoking hotel are in-room tea and coffee, a morning newspaper and local telephone calls. The hotel has seven meeting available for business or social functions. The largest, the Jefferson Ballroom, can accommodate 220 guests. Area landmarks and attractions include numerous golf courses, Harrah's Casino, the National D-Day Museum, Bourbon Street, Destrehan Plantation, the Superdome, Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, Canal Street, the Louisiana Children’s Museum, the Aquarium of the Americas, the Confederate Museum and the Six Flags New Orleans theme park.

Visitors to Metairie say this is a marvelous Marriott and the best place to stay in town. Many guests stayed here rather than in downtown New Orleans. They said it was a $20 taxi ride to the French Quarter and after a session there it was nice to return to this quiet oasis. There were good reviews about an attentive and friendly team of workers, very comfortable beds and reasonable rates for luxury facilities. Most clients were impressed with the views of the 24-mile Causeway Bridge that the hotel enjoys and said they would definitely stay at this hotel again. Read our customer reviews?

All the rooms, and 34 suites, have a well-lit work desk with high-speed Internet access, Internet browser television with cable movie and news channels, pay-per-view movies, alarm clock, tea and coffee making facilities, pullout sofa bed, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, bathrobes and cordless telephone with voicemail and speakerphone.

The hotel’s Bistro 38 by Dominique serves breakfast and lunch. The Bar 38 serves lunch and dinner and the Perks coffee shop is open throughout the day. Room service is available from 6am until 11pm. Restaurants nearby include Andrea’s Italian restaurant, a Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, a PF Chang’s China Bistro, Shogun Japanese Steak and Sushi and Drago’s Seafood Restaurant. The on-site Lakeway Athletic Club has an indoor swimming pool, whirlpool and a fitness center. The 24-hour front desk has safe deposit boxes and information on area events and attractions. Other amenities include fax and copying services, a coin-operated laundry, valet dry-cleaning, limousine service, vending machines, an ATM and a gift shop and newsstand.

From New Orleans Airport (MSY) 6.4 miles: Take Airport Access Road to I-10 East to the North Causeway Boulevard exit #228. Take North Causeway Boulevard to 6th Street. Turn left onto 6th Street at the next light, turn into the porte-cochere at the hotel.
