The 96 all-suites Residence Inn by Marriott Louisville East hotel provides affordable extended-stay accommodation for both the business traveler and families on vacation. Suites at this pet-friendly hotel have fully equipped kitchens and separate living and sleeping areas. Items included in the room rate at this two-story, non-smoking property are: High-speed Internet access, a hot breakfast buffet, a manager’s reception on midweek evenings, parking, local telephone calls and coffee available in the lobby 24/7. Area landmarks and attractions include Churchill Downs, Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom, the Slugger Factory and Museum and the Louisville Science Center. The University of Louisville Shelby campus is directly across the street from the hotel.

Many visitors to this residential-style hotel on the city's east side say it makes a great alternative to the more expensive properties downtown. Families made good use of the kitchens, enabling them to save money on eating out, and several said they would return to this hotel on future visits to the area. Businessmen on a budget said the staff was extremely helpful with fax and copying needs and the Internet access was fast – and free! All the suites have a fireplace and a kitchen with conventional oven and microwave oven, stovetop, refrigerator with icemaker, dishwasher, coffeemaker, toaster and a full set of cutlery and crockery. There is a work desk with high-speed Internet access, IDD telephone with voicemail, pullout sofa bed, television with 65 cable channels, hairdryer and an iron and ironing board.

This inn has an outdoor heated swimming pool, whirlpool and a sports court. Hotel guests can get free entry into the fitness center at the nearby Louisville Athletic Club. The complimentary breakfast is the only meal served here but the inn does provide a grocery shopping service and has a list of restaurants that will deliver to the inn. There are several places to eat nearby including the Bristol Bar and Grill, a Piccadilly Cafeteria, PF Changes and a Longhorn Steakhouse. The 24-hour front desk has safe deposit boxes and information on area events and attractions. From Louisville International Airport (SDF) 13 miles: Take 264 E to Exit 20A (Shelbyville Road, Highway 60 Middletown). Go east on Shelbyville Road two miles to Hurstbourne Parkway, go north (left) on Hurstbourne Parkway one block. The hotel is on the left. From I-64: Exit Hurstbourne Parkway North, follow Hurstbourne Parkway North for two miles, cross Shelbyville Road (HW60). The hotel will be on your left.
