We really enjoyed our stay. I would have preferred to not have been given a smoking" room as we don't smoke and the smell lingers but it is a busy weekend during the State Tournament. I thought they should have been able to accommodate our request however, since we made our reservations 10 months early. Other than that, the room was immaculate, the housekeeping and front desk staff friendly and the stay a pleasant one."

Could have used another shuttle bus for this busy weekend. One was not enough.

Great location and convenient to everything. I thought the staff went above and beyond. I had a couple of issues with the phone upstairs and they fixed it right away. Never charged me for the valet parking at all...not sure why. I questioned them about it and the management said it was on the house." Considering I was there for so long, that was a pretty good deal. I travel a lot, and that is the first time I ever got a break on parking. I thought the service was great, so not sure why they did that. But very much appreciated. It saved me about $90.00. Very nice people. Food was also good and pretty reasonable for a hotel."

Valet attendants were great. Staff was super friendly.

Room was a little dirty. Could use a deep cleaning.

The Embassy Suites in Des Moines is a beautiful place to stay. The area is a safe place to take the kids and walk to the sites. The Capital building is only 5 or 6 blocks to the east and is a neat site to see at night with the golden dome all light up. The river front is also beautiful to go and look at. It was very easy to get to from the interstate even with all the construction going on.

I loved the location it was beautiful by the river.

The bathroom was a little small.

The Embassy offers all you need for comfort, convenience and confidence. Many visitors were happy with well-kept accommodations, cozy beds, refrigerators, microwaves, clean bathrooms, complimentary Wi-Fi, good-sized airy gym and pool, free breakfast, managers reception, location and warm staff. However, some guests felt that it required renovation. They complained about rust on bathroom fittings, dated amenities, poor housekeeping service, internet fee, substandard menu for evening reception and breakfast and cigarette smell in non-smoking rooms.
