This was a stay overnight for selling a horse in Story City. We really didn't get to take advantage of all the motel has to offer which made it a little expensive for an overnight stay.
There would have been room for our horse trailer.
Easy to get to and close to my daughter's apartment.

Guests have wonderful things to say about this hotel. From the quiet, relaxing atmosphere to the bountiful food selections and staff who are eager to please, Heartland Inn Ames is a winner for folks looking for a convenient place to stay. The only problem reported was during a reservation cancellation. Apparently, if you need to cancel, you will have to call their customer service line, and the representatives you speak to may not be able to provide great service. Guests have been fitted into rooms quickly, the staff at the hotel has been helpful, and the services and food options have been top notch. This may not be the best place to reserve in advance, but if you're just pulling into Ames and need to stay the night, Heartland Inn is a great choice.
