Very classy! Was given an upgrade free. Stayed on the club floor with great amenities. Good quiet place to stay with several great eating/drinking places within a block or closer!

Good price, location, staff.

Drink prices in the Irish pub were ridiculous.

This hotel was excellent for both business travelers (since it was located downtown and across from the College Football Hall of Fame and from the theatre), the romantic traveler since it was across the street from the river, the art museum (great views) and the family vacationers since it had access to the river, athletic, cultural venues and proximity to dining. The staff was very helpful and the rooms were very comfortable.

The view of the river was excellent.

Internet connection was not free.

The 298-room Marriott South Bend is located along the St. Joseph River in downtown South Bend and provides quality accommodation at an affordable price equally suited to the business or pleasure traveler. Items included with the room rate at this nine-story, non-smoking hotel are an airport shuttle, in-room tea and coffee, local telephone calls and a morning newspaper. The full service hotel is close to the University of Notre Dame, the College Football Hall of Fame and the Morris Performing Arts Center. The property is connected by skywalk to the Century Center Convention Complex. There are seven meeting rooms available for business or social functions. The largest can accommodate 400 guests.

Most visitors to South Bend who stayed at this Marriott said they had an enjoyable stay. The employees here are efficient and friendly and the large glass atrium impresses many guests. Business clients appreciated the wireless Internet access but did not appreciate being charged for the service. Couples enjoyed weekend getaways here when the rates are lower. Some guests warned that there are other quality hotels in the area with larger rooms and lower rates. Despite this many customers said they will return to enjoy the Marriott experience.
