The casino with 1,500 slot machines and 37 table games to play is the major attraction of this 200-room resort. The Grand Victoria Casino and Resort by Hyatt is on the shore of the Ohio River in Rising Sun, Indiana. The casino is aboard a 322-foot long, 40,000 square-foot Victorian sternwheeler. The property is not suited not for the businessman but it does have facilities for families as well as those who like to gamble. The resort has numerous dining options and sporting facilities. There is a golf course nearby and if you need a souvenir of your visit there is a gift shop on-site.

Those who win here at the casino don’t seem to have any complaints. Those who lose say there are better places to stay nearby. Families think it is great. There is plenty for younger ones to enjoy while parents play the tables. Major moans were that the rooms are not up to normal Hyatt standards and many of the staff are a little too efficient and less friendly. The rooms come with a choice of one king size or two double beds. The executive suites come with a separate living room with dining table. All the accommodation has cable TV, Internet access, coffee maker, IDD telephone and a fully equipped bathroom with hairdryer. Room service operates from 8am until 11pm.

Dining options include the Riverview Buffet, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner offering over 125 different items with views of the Ohio River and the Kentucky hills; Wellington's Steakhouse, for top meats and seafood; the Piccadilly Deli, open 24 hours a day; and the Victoria Pub Sports Bar for drinks and appetizers. The hotel’s indoor heated pool is open from 9am until 9pm. There is a fitness center and ice and soda machines are available throughout the property. The 24-hour front desk has safe deposit boxes and there are laundry and dry cleaning facilities.

From Downtown Cincinnati (drive time 45 minutes): From 75, take 74 West toward Indianapolis. From 74 West, merge on to 275 South (exit 5) toward Kentucky. Follow 275 South to 50 (exit 16) in Indiana. From the exit ramp, turn left on 50 and go six miles to Aurora. At the intersection of 50, 350 and 56 in Aurora (bank on left), turn left on 56. Follow 56 through downtown Aurora by going through the light by the bridge and then turning left at the next light (by gas station on left). Continue to follow 56 for seven miles until you get to Rising Sun. The property entrance is on the left. From Southern Cincinnati (drive time 40 minutes) and Lexington (drive time 2 hours): From 75, take 275 West to 50 (exit 16) in Indiana. From the exit ramp, turn left on 50 and go six miles to Aurora. At the intersection of 50, 350 and 56 in Aurora (bank on left), turn left on 56. Follow 56 through downtown Aurora by going through the light by the bridge and then turning left at the next light (by gas station on left). Continue to follow 56 for seven miles until you get to Rising Sun. The property entrance is on the left. From Indianapolis (drive time 1-3/4 hours): Take 74 East to the Batesville Exit. Turn right at the end of the ramp and then left on 46 at the light. Follow 46 to 129 and turn right at the light. Follow 129 and turn left on 350 at the light. Follow 350 to the intersection of 350, 50 and 56. Go straight on to 56 and follow 56 through downtown Aurora by going through the light by the bridge and then turning left at the next light (by gas station on left). Continue to follow 56 for seven miles until you get to Rising Sun. The property entrance is on the left
