For the money, this is the best deal in town! Located in downtown Indy, our room overlooked a beautiful canal walk where we could watch people walking, rollerblading, and bike riding. We even saw a gondola with a singing gondolier! Easy on and off of the major freeway and within walking distance of downtown shopping. The full kitchen is always great! I highly recommend Marriott Indianapolis East (the Residence Inn).

No problem with check in even though I arrived at 10:30 at night. Courteous service by staff, found that it was a new hotel, great room design and bathroom was great.

The 274-room Marriott Indianapolis East Indianapolis is a full-service hotel providing quality accommodation at an affordable price for both the business and leisure traveler. The pet-friendly, six-story hotel has 26 rooms for social or business functions. The largest can accommodate 1,500 guests. Items included with the room rate are high-speed Internet access, parking, local telephone calls and a morning newspaper. The non-smoking hotel is 12 miles from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, host to the Indianapolis 500. Other nearby landmarks and attractions are three golf courses, the Childrens Museum, Indianapolis Zoo, the Eiteljorg Museum and the Circle Center Mall which has more than 100 stores and restaurants.

Does HotelsByCity recommend this hotel?

This is an older hotel and it does not get the great reviews that its sister downtown Marriott hotel enjoys. On the plus side the rates here are less expensive and the location quieter in a suburban area, which many guests preferred. This Marriott is pet-friendly and there is no charge for parking. Both those items do no apply to the downtown Marriott. Those who have stayed at both properties say the employees are equally friendly and efficient.
