I would recommend this hotel, in Elkhart, because of the friendly staff, and nice accommodations. We came for a Notre Dame football game, and will always try to stay in Elkhart, rather than South Bend. South Bend gets so busy, and it's more than difficult to get into a restaurant in that area. We dined at numerous places while in Elkhart. (DaVinci's, Texas Roadhouse, Cracker Barrel). We didn't have any long waits at all. Great area!

We enjoyed the fresh baked cookies & coffee in the lobby on Friday evening.

We looked forward to the cookies and coffee on Saturday evening, but nothing was out, and room was dark.

Big rooms and very quiet.

Set back off the road, kind of hard to notice.

The 63-room Holiday Inn Express Elkhart is just north of downtown Elkhart and provides quality accommodation equally suited to the business traveler or vacationer. Items included with the room rate at this three-story hotel are a hot breakfast buffet, high-speed Internet access, in-room tea and coffee and parking. Elkhart is known as the RV capital of the world because of the area manufacturing facilities and is also in the heart of Northern Indianas Amish Country. Area landmarks and attractions include Notre Dame University, Shipshewana Flea Market and Auction, the R.V. Heritage Museum and Amish Acres. Corporate offices close to the property include Damon Corporation, Elkhart Products, Heywood Williams, Skyline, and Dexter Axle.

This Holiday Inn Express does not get all good reviews. We give it the YES rating because the staff here was appreciated for being friendly and efficient, the rooms are squeaky clean and the location is good within walking distance of 15 restaurants and outlet shops. There were some complaints that the rates are higher than some of the neighboring hotels and some guests said they would try one of those on future visits to Elkhart.
