The 288-room Crowne Plaza Hotel Springfield is located directly off of Interstate 55 close to the historic sites and provides luxury accommodation at an affordable price for both families on vacation and the business traveler. There are 29 meeting rooms available for business or social functions. The largest can accommodate 2,500 guests. The property is close to Lincoln's Home and Tomb, Lincoln's New Salem State Historic Site, the Old State Capitol, the Dana Thomas House designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, and the new Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum. Other area landmarks and attractions include numerous golf courses, the Illinois State Fair Grounds, Knights Action Water Park, the Henson Robinson Zoo, Springfield College in Illinois, the University of Illinois at Springfield and the Lake Springfield Parks and Beach.

Travelers to Springfield who stayed at this Crowne Plaza said that it was a decent hotel with a very professional and polite team of employees. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and the bathrooms were spacious. Some clients were disappointed that the amenities were not more modern - they had expected a flat screen television – and they thought the prices were on the high side.
