The east door supposedly required a key card to get in, but I could not get it to latch. I forgot to tell the staff about this.

The 65-room Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites Pontoon Beach is only minutes away from downtown St. Louis, Missouri and provides fully equipped accommodation for both the business and leisure traveler. All rooms and suites have a kitchenette. The three-story non-smoking property includes high-speed Internet access, a continental breakfast and parking in its room rates. The hotel is near the operations of Granite City Steel, Heidtman Steel, and Robinson Steel. The inn is 15 miles from Busch Stadium, home of the St. Louis Cardinals and Edward Jones Dome, home to the St. Louis Rams.

Reasonable prices and a rural location are the plus points of this locally owned Holiday Inn. Sadly, there were complaints about overbooking and some former visitors said the staff was not as helpful and friendly as their counterparts at some of the neighboring properties. Hopefully management will read these comments, and take action and better organize their reservation system and give some training to those they employ.
