nice room, but - posted on 11/29/2006

no in-room coffee maker, no refrigerator, no access to coffee unless you want to get dressed & walk- this would convince my husband & I not to stay here again although we got a great Chicago rate over the holiday. Seems like a small detail, but it was important to us with a family of four.

Beautiful Hotel - posted on 10/04/2006

I still can't get over how nice the rooms were! We even had a large, flat-screen tv. The best part, however, was the staff. Everyone we encountered was always friendly and helpful. The small details are what made this hotel so enjoyable. I would definitely stay here again!

Nice, but... - posted on 10/02/2006

I expected more from a Conrad. The rooms were very nice and the people were pleasant but there was a "crispness" to the service that was missing. Particularly annoying to wait 10 minutes for coffee/water at breakfast.

Best Experience Ever !!! - posted on 08/19/2006

First, we arrived at 9:00 am and were immediately checked in without a bat of an eye. The room was extraordinary with a plush bed and pillows, a large flat screen TV with a Bose sound system and a huge bathroom with separate glass enclosed shower, separate commode area, a deep luxurious bath tub, bath robes, slippers and all the little extras to make it even more special. The maid service was excellent and the nightly turndown service made us feel like royalty. We have never enjoyed a hotel stay more. We will definitely stay here again and again.

My business trip hotel of choice - posted on 04/05/2006

I stay here everytime I'm in Chicago for business (4-5 times each year). They do everything right, particularly hiring great staff. The main doorman has been there forever, and he's impeccibly friendly, professional and helpful. The rooms are clean, comfortable and have excellent bathrooms. Location is fabulous; I walk to the lake in the evenings. Love it!

Nice stay - posted on 05/31/2005

I had an enjoyable stay at this hotel. The location was wonderful, downtown and walking distance to most places. The lobby had a nice layout, although smoke from the bar filled the lobby (very unpleasant). Staff was friendly and attentive. The room was small but cozy. The bathroom was beautiful. We had a regular room, with a view of an office building next door. They were unwilling to upgrade unless we paid another $25/night. They allowed us a late check out. I have mixed feelings with the price of this hotel compared to the actual stay.

Very, very enjoyable stay. The service was great and the rooms were excellent. Good view from the rooms as well. Good location as well, close to shopping, etc.

Fantastique! - posted on 12/17/2004

Went to Chicago the weekend before Thanksgiving with another couple. The service from the front desk staff was expectional! When we asked for a room on a high floor and recieved it. The front desk staff were very much accomodating and called you by your proper name when walking though the lobby.Close to shopping which is why my wife picked it.We want to stay again.

Fun Stay! - posted on 12/05/2004

What an awesome hotel! Really wanted to stay at the Peninsula, but am glad it was sold out so we could stay at Le Meridien. Great & very friendly staff, good room service, really good TV reception and station selection, monstrous bathroom. My wife loved the close proximity to the Northbridge shopping center. Still want to try the Peninsula some time, but I would definitely stay at Le Meridien again.

Very Enjoyable - posted on 11/15/2004

Only complaint - I was disappointed when I booked all the rooms for our group and upon check in, when I asked for room with a city view, or a corner room, I was told I'd have to pay an extra $25.00 per night, yet my colleagues were given complimentary upgrades. Inside rooms give you very little natural light. Color palate was very relaxing.
