terrible stay! - posted on 01/16/2007
The staff was not helpful or friendly. The room was small, old, dirty, filthy, oldfashion heater (we had to use wrench if we wanted to adjust the heat, basically if we wanted heat it was going to REALLY HOT or cold). For the amount of money that I paid for the room, it absolutly was not worth it. I would not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel. I feel I did not get a deal or a nice hotel from Hotels by city. How does this hotel have 5 stars?
Unhappy at Cass - posted on 10/20/2006
We found the Cass Hotel to be quite understaffed. And the staff that WAS on hand was not exactly helpful or courteous. The location and price of this hotel attracted us, but we would definitely pay the extra $$ to stay at a different hotel in the same area next time.

The location of this hotel was great! The halls and rooms smelled heavily of cigarette smoke and the hot water wasn't very hot. But for a one or two night stay, this isn't too bad.
great price for a weekend trip - posted on 05/08/2006
We visited Chicago for a weekend at the end of April and booked our two night stay at the Cass Hotel. The room was small, but good enough for the amount of time that we spent in the room. The staff was very friendly and helpful and they even have a small cafe for a quick breakfast. The hotel was close to all the better restaurants and clubs and we felt very safe there. Our only complaint was the mattress. Very uncomfortable, we could feel the springs poking out and the shower head in our bath needed to be replaced as well. All in all, for the price we paid, we were satisfied with our choice.

Good location and handy to lake and shopping. Maybe could look at tea & coffee facilities in room. Clean & tidy

This hotel is within walking distance of anything you want. Uno's Pizza, Gino's East, the Hardrock Cafe, the Magnificent Mile and the EL. Clean, cozy rooms, not big but why travel to Chicago to stay in a hotel room? Great base of operations to see the city at a great price.
