The 302-room Courtyard by Marriott Chicago Downtown provides luxury accommodation at an affordable price for both the business and leisure traveler. The 15-story, non-smoking hotel is located in the River North area, just steps from Michigan Avenue. There are six meeting rooms for social or business functions. The largest can accommodate 250 guests. Items included with the room rate are high-speed Internet access, a morning newspaper, local telephone calls and coffee available in the lobby 24/7. The hotel is within walking distance of downtown attractions including the Navy Pier, American Girl Place and the theater and museum districts. Other nearby landmarks include the John Hancock Building, Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs, McCormick Place, the Rosemont Theater, Brookfield Zoo and the Art Institute of Chicago.

Several former clients at this Courtyard used the word excellent when describing their stay. And the word was used for the service, location and the accommodation. Many clients said they were able to walk to the major downtown points of interest and the employees were full of information on where to go and what to see. Some guests said the breakfast was overpriced. Frequent visitors said they avoided the high charge by walking to a nearby Dunkin Donuts. Courtyard Chicago Downtown Accommodations

All the guestrooms, and 35 suites, have a large work desk with ergonomic chair and high-speed Internet access, 27-inch flat-screen television with cable movie and news channels, pay-per-view movies, pullout sofa bed, alarm clock, tea and coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board, hairdryer and two-line telephone with voicemail.

The hotel has an indoor swimming pool, whirlpool and a fitness center. There is a Starbuck Coffee and the State Street Bread Company on-site. Both are open throughout the day. Room service is available from 7am until 10pm. There are numerous restaurants within walking distance including BB’s, the Grand Lux Café, Vongs Thai Kitchen and the Rock Bottom Brewery. The 24-hour front desk has safe deposit boxes, information on area events and attractions and can arrange for babysitters. Other amenities include fax and copying services, an ATM, vending machines, a coin-operated laundry, valet dry-cleaning and a gift shop and newsstand.

From Chicago O'Hare Airport (ORD) 14 miles: Take I-190 East to I-90 (Kennedy Expressway) East to the Ohio Street Exit. Ohio Street is a one-way street eastbound. Take Ohio to State. Turn right on State, and go to Hubbard (third light). Turn left and hotel entrance is on the left.
