Customer Reviews for Hilton Chicago

Great Stay - posted on 09/06/2006

Were extremely pleased with the Chicago Hilton. Location was exceptional, rooms were clean, extremely comfortable, beds were to die for. Everyone was professional but friendly. Would highly recommend this hotel!

are you kidding me? - posted on 04/11/2007

Charging $15 to hotel guests to use the fitness room!? give me a break! And the hotel pool was closed during our whole 3-night stay -- without any pre-registration notice -- and no rebate for disappointed guests!

Top Notch - posted on 09/04/2006

We stayed here during the Labor Day weekend because not many other hotels were available. The price was reasonable considering it's a downtown hotel. For bars, restaurants and shopping we had to commute a mile or two either by cab or bus.

Not worth the price - posted on 08/23/2006

This hotel's once-elegant accomodations are wearing thin. Even my executive floor room was in need of renovation. The front desk was slooow and mangled my reservation, resulting in me getting locked out of my room after 1 night. The next day, mysterious charges appeared on my bill which I had to ask to have removed. Location's not the greatest. It's right next to the park, but a few blocks south of the business district in a transitional neighborhood.

Perfection at the Hilton - posted on 08/01/2006

Staying and this beautiful hotel made our Chicago stay even more enjoyable. Though we had some reservation mix ups a very nice bell-hop helped us with our things and gave us a tour while they solved our problem. I LOVED the comfy beds. I want won at home now! It was a wonderful stay and the kids loved it.

We were given a room without a bed! - posted on 07/25/2006

I will never stay at a Hilton again. We were stuck in a room w/o a bed and offered either a sofa bed or full-size cot to sleep on. There was a used condom wrapper left in the room. When we checked in (after midnight) and requested a crib asap so we could put our toddler back to bed, it took them nearly 2 hours before they delivered the crib and cot (we tried the sofa bed - it was abysmal, as expected).

If I had known that the Hilton had become so cheap, I would have booked elsewhere. The room rate was expensive enough for such a tiny room, but then surcharges for internet access and to use the fitness center and business center and so on blew me away. The location wasn't exactly worth it either; other hotels were studded throughout the area.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. If we return we will most likely stay at the same place

Do Not Expect Customer Service - posted on 06/08/2006

Unfortunately this hotel's customer service is non-existent. We were first booked into an unclean room. It took over 30 minutes to locate a person who could not only give us a clean room and provide us with the keys. We had seek out this assistance. We attempted to order champagne from room service which showed up only after multiple calls and multiple hours after which we were billed for three bottles instead of the one we finally received. Finally, we were overbilled for parking costs. No person took ownership of the mistakes or for resolution of the issues. It was truly disappointing.

Hilton, Chicago - posted on 05/29/2006

If had to be done over again would have stayed at Four Point Sheraton. Hilton customer relations were in a big need for improvement. Valet parking $50.00 a day and it was totally screwed up, they didn't give me the right slip and had to fill out forms 3 times for valet parking. Rooms airconditioning didn't work properly and it was warm. Other than that, it was a nice Hotel and Bellman were great.

Loved it - posted on 03/12/2006

The hotel was beautiful and our room was clean and comfy. The beds were great and we had a view to the Sears Tower which was excellent-especially at night. There's a great sushi place a block away too! Had a super time!

I loved the workout area but was disappointed that they charged to use the weights and aerobic equipment.

Met expectations - posted on 01/18/2006

We stayed here over a long weekend for a convention. The rooms were clean and the bed very comfortable. The staff we met were always very friendly. Our room faced away from the lake and we could hear the train (L) pass. It wasn't enough to wake you, but it was noticeable. Parking was $30 per night.

Beautiful Lobby - posted on 01/05/2006

Beautiful hotel, the moment you walk in you are enchanted by the lobby. Beds are very clean and extremely comfortable (nice sheets), the room we stayed in had two bathrooms (excellent!). Staff very friendly and helpful. A little bit of a walk down Michigan Avenue, but you are right across from Grant Park. Kitty O'Shea's is a fun pub to have a drink and listen to some Irish music. Overall, great price and great place to stay, cant wait to go back!

Hilton New Years - posted on 01/04/2006

From the moment we entered the packing garage through check-in and a crazy-busy day for the staff, the hotel was extremely prepared and organized. Checking in over 700 guests in one day and everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. We had 4 rooms and requested to be near eachother and we were all next to eachother - it's a raretity to get that when a hotel is at 50% capacity. We would all stay again and suggest the Hilton to others.

Had a great time - posted on 10/10/2005

My husband and I spent our first anniversary in Chicago. We stayed only one night, but had a great time. The service was wonderful and the beds were very comfortable. We loved our room but wished we could have seen out of the one window that was blocked by the tv/minibar/dresser since we paid for a lakeview. If the set up of the room was changed a little our stay would have been a 5--outstanding.

Family trip - posted on 09/10/2005

The lakeview room with two double beds and two bathrooms was great for a family of four. Easy walk to the museum campus, slightly longer to the Loop and Magnificnet Mile. The concierge staff was great, helping us get last minute theater tickets. Parking is expensive, but in/out priviledges helps.

Very pleasant experience - posted on 08/18/2005

The room was large and very comfortable. It also had two bathrooms. The parking was very expensive but a more economical lot was across the street. The El Line was two short blocks away; very convenient.

Luxurious Comfort - posted on 08/11/2005

Upon checking in, the desk staffs were courteous and helpful. Each time we passed by the staff who make up rooms, they were smiling, friendly and when asked, very helpful. The room was very clean and beds comfortable. I especially liked having two bathrooms.

More upside than down - posted on 08/02/2005

Room was nonsmoking king lakeview. Window had hand and forehead prints on it, which was not surprising since the view was great. Easy walking distance to Field Museum. Parking and restaurant were expensive but convenient.

Good Chicago stay - posted on 07/21/2005

he hotel was very nice, about 1.5 miles from the magnificient mile shopping area. It is best to enter and exit onto Michigan Ave. to walk around. Not much in the immediate area but a good walk never hurts. If you have trouble walking look closer to the mile.

Nice, but...UNHAPPY - posted on 05/04/2005

While the hotel itself was nice, the room was too small for EVERYTHING that was in it. A kingsize bed doesn't fit in a closet!

A little over rated - posted on 04/26/2005

I stayed for business in April of 2005. The air conditioning never cooled the room down and I never got an indication from maintenance that they had even looked at it. The room appointments were very nice, and the bed was very comfortable. Great exercise facility but it costs $13. They also charge for high speed. Other places are a better deal
