Wonderful Stay - Good service !!! - posted on 04/29/2007
Yet another great experience at one of the Wyndham Hotels really enjoyed our stay. I would definitely stay here again as the service was wonderful. The staff was helpful.

This hotel was wonderful. Only one block from the magnificent mile. The service was impecable. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone.

Had an overnight at the Wyndham. The staff was great, the room was clean, and neat. The bed was too hard for me but that is a personal thing. Great little bar, good drinks.
Excellent Hotel - posted on 03/08/2007
I have stayed here twice. Both times, I have experienced noises that only become apparent once your trying to sleep. Most recently was a drip and it couldn't be located. Sounded like it came from the heating units. The hotel is among the better deals in the North Michigan Ave.area. It is cleaner than other comparable hotels. Beds are comfortable and linens are very clean and inviting. The bathrooms are very large with ample towels. The hallways are well lighted, carpet is clean and overall the lobby and interior is upscale.
Staff went above & beyond - posted on 02/28/2007
I only stayed one night, but accidentally left my cellphone in the room. The security staff went above and beyond to get my phone returned to me. Thank you!!

Great location. Rooms are nice and spacious. Our room had a red stain on the carpet. That was the only blemish about the hotel. Room service is 24 hour, good food, very fast, but pricey. Bathroom was large with nice tile and fixtures.
It was OK - posted on 01/08/2007
The hotel was what you would expect of a nice place on Michigan Ave. however the staff was very snooty, and when I tried to use the high speed internet, it didn't work, I called the front desk, and was told that I could not use it because I had not made my reservation directly through the hotel.

Nice But Chilly - posted on 12/14/2006
Great location, comfy bed, large closet in room BUT the room was VERY cold at night & the staff made sure the heat in the rooms would not go above around 68 degrees so they would save money. I posted a similar review about the Westin in Chicago a few years ago, so I'm sensing a pattern in that city.

Nice hotel except the carpet in the room and hall was dirty

Spent 2 nights while on a business trip. Found staff to be helpfull. The room i got was big and the bed was very comfortable. The ionly problem i had was the 30 minute late arrival of my room service breakfast order.Other than this minor problem evrything was great. I would recommend this Hotel.

Wife and I stayed for pleasure. Excellent location close to Mile and all the shops, taxi stop across street. Great restaurant and the staff was awesome and helpful
Great Deal - posted on 01/14/2006
Excellent location, very nice facilities and helpful staff. Only downfall was the somewhat noisey building, I could easily hear when the rooms around me were showering, people getting on/off the elevator, and even the blinds going up & down in other people's rooms. Perfect if you're a heavy sleeper, though.

We met in Chicago for a shop till you drop visit and to show off Chicago to a southern friend. We had ajoining rooms which worked out super . We even had a view from one that was great. We have usually stayed at the Westin but chose here becuse of flight package. We were deligted. It's location is ideal for both ends of Michigan shopping. Friday eating place was a great blessing at less than a block away. Now wait, good food and Fun time.
good deal - posted on 12/31/2005
Price and location were right but the rooms were a bit run-down. We asked for 2 rooms, including one with double beds to accommodate our adult children. After waiting 20 minutes to check in we arrived at our rooms to find that both had king beds. We were told that no double rooms were available but, after pointing out that we called to confirm that morning, we were given the requested double. The hotel was filled with families with small children. Not bad but you should be aware of the atmosphere around the holidays--not quiet and a bit chaotic.

My girlfriend and I stayed for 3 days during the week before Christmas. The location was perfect for a day shopping and eating along Michigan Avenue. The saff was very friendly and helpful. Definitley plan on staying there again for future trips.
relax at Wyndham - posted on 12/18/2005
The Wyndham is at the center of everything right off Chicago's famed Magnicifent Mile but at the same time, it's like an oasis from all that actitvity. Just a block or so east from the Mile, the hotel is a quiet and unassuming place since it's housed inside a large tower building. Hotel staff was quick and attentive, the room was well appointed and, best of all, I felt rested and refreshed from a good night's sleep. In short, a quality place to stay if you're all about a tidy, relaxing room with few frills. I'll be back.
Location, great sevice, great value - posted on 11/30/2005
Near all the shopping on the mile, decor for the holidays was spectacular and sevice was top notch. Couldn't ask for a better visit. Nightlife within the lounge was definitely enjoyable as well.
Wait at the Wyndham - posted on 11/27/2005
Front desk clerk was making rude remarks about a guest's luggage upon arrival. As Wyndham by Request members we never received our complimentary wine. (5 phone calls and 24 hours later we gave up) Luggage took over 30 minutes to bring down.Service elevators not working. Price good, service poor. Good location
Great Place - posted on 09/29/2005
Great Place, one block from Michigan Avenue. We upgraded to a deluxe room with a separate living room and bedroom. Room was immaculate, and we have very high standards. Staff were very approachable and helpful, and pointed us to the best deep dish pizza in town - a very short taxi drive away.

The Wyndham's rooms were spacious, quiet, and clean. Concierge was extremely helpful. 2 blocks from shopping, and a few more to Navy Pier. Would absolutely stay there again!

Disorganized - posted on 08/25/2005
At checkin, we waited 45 minutes and finally settled for a room other than the one that was promised. The room we received had rug stains and some unknown substance on the bathroom floor. We were charged for in-room bar although we had no key to the bar. The bill wasn't resolved until we checked out.

Awesome Hotel - Great Location !! - posted on 08/15/2005
We have a favourite place to stay when we're in Chicago. The rooms are huge. The location is perfect. They gave us adjoining rooms that were ready 2 hours early upon arrival. The staff was very helpful and courteous.
Nice hotel, lousy staff - posted on 08/14/2005
Nice enough and clean, but the front desk staff needs work...the front desk attendant was sleeping in the office behind the front desk when we arrived, and it took about 5 minutes of knocking on the office door to wake her up. All calls made to the front desk the rest of the weekend ended up in dissapointing, if not rude service. I've stayed in many hotels in the area for about the same price and have had much better service elsewhere. I would probably not stay here again unless the rates are discounted to a level more suitable to the level of service provided.
great weekend for a frenchguy 1st time in chicago - posted on 08/10/2005
My weekend was absolutely perfect and the hotel almost perfect (just not enougth pressure for the shower, but at the 17th story and with a great view perhaps it's normal!). Room very very clean, bed very very very comfy, staff very very nice, concierge who has very good ideas and vip pass (thanks to him I am now a friend of the manager of one of the smartest nightclub in town)..The price is usually not cheap ..I recommend this hotel (sorry if there are some mistakes, I don't speack english perfectly)

We arrived on a Sunday and our room we recieved had 2 double beds and a huge area wet spot. I called down to the desk and right away they gave us a new room. This room was a corner king mini suite which was great! I took my mom for her birthday and we had a great time. I would love to stay here again if I ever return. Great staff, friendly, wonderful time!!!!

Affordable luxery in the city - posted on 07/26/2005
The hotel was very friendly, clean and convenient. Only complaint was pool was really small. OK for small children. Breakfast was awesome and room by request is the way to go. After check in, I had fresh fruit and chardonnay delivered to my door after I settled in. Will go back for sure! Only other downside is if you use a debit card, they charge you a $50 deposit for incidentals...hopefully I get it back. We'll see.
Just a Room - posted on 07/14/2005
The room was small for a family of four. The beds were full size not queen. The bell staff stood there and watch as my family unloaded our van. My only guess is that if you pull up in a van instead of an SUV or luxury car you do not measure up. This certainly did not measure up to the reviews and recommendations I have read earlier on this hotel. Their are only two positives during our stay--location and leaving.
Great place to stay in Chicago - posted on 12/21/2004
I was concerned that booking a room through the internet would not be a wonderful experience, my first time, but it was great. The hotel was nice, in a great location and our rooms were all you could hope for in a hotel room. The price was great for downtown Chicago and we had a lovely time.
No Heat - posted on 12/21/2004
Overall our experience was ok, with exception of little or no heat in one of the two rooms we reserved, and the hotel could do nothing. At checkout, it was agreed to credit a room service bill for our trouble, which was never done.
Very Nice - posted on 09/21/2004
The hotel was very nice. The service was fine, except for a mix up with the valet service. We waited a long time for our car. Be sure to call in advance for the valet to bring your car up. The dining room was nice and dinner was good, but quite pricey for very small portions (Nouvelle).
