I went to Chicago for the first time with my young daughters. The hotel was great. Concierge was awesome. ONE MESSAGE FOR ALL HOTELS: We should ALL be DEMANDING that ALL HOTELS wash ALL bedding after EACH visit. I always toss top duvet/quilt covers in the closet and don't use them. YUCK.
understaffed - posted on 04/08/2007
I stood in line 20 minutes to check in after coming back because the line was too long the first time. The ice machine didn't work, fridge in the room and fan in the shower didn't work, the complimentary breakfast was gone and not restocked even though they were open for another hour. Sheraton really needs to up their game. On a positive note, the beds were comfortable and the room was clean. If we didn't get such a great rate, I'd be furious.

The hotel is a bit rundown. Location is good. Parking expensive. Bed too hard. Pillows flat and scratchy. Employees friendly and helpful. Couldn't get two rooms on same floor with 2 beds in each as promised.

Everyone in the hotel was soo extremely helpful and knowledgeable, it made the trip that much better. I would definitely go there again!!
It was okay - posted on 02/23/2007
Really nice lobby- rooms are just okay, not nearly as fancy as the lobby would have you assume.Comfortable beds and linens. The concierge staff was very helpful and the other staff was very friendly and helpful too. The worst was that there was no wireless internet in the rooms and you had to pay for internet access. Access was from noon to noon, so if you logged on at 9 pm you would be cut off and have to repay at noon the next day.
great Sheraton hotel - posted on 02/08/2007
This is a great hotel in an even greater location right on the river. Very nice bar area on ground floor and best steak house Schulla's even though expensive. There's also a great burger bar in the lower level for cheaper eating. Rooms spacious and higher levels with great views of Lake. All in all a great experience and would definitely stay here again.
Nice hotel but have money to enjoy their services. - posted on 02/08/2007
The staff was friendly. Pool area does not have a hot tub but does have a sauna in the "locker room". Pool hours closed at 8pm on Sat. and reopened at 5:30am Sun! Too early for us both ways! Fitness center charges to use it. When choosing parking, choose valet for 39 dollars. gen. parking is 25 dollars and has to be paid every time you leave to go somewhere. With valet, you can come and go for the same price. 39 Dollars for 24 hours. Walgreens is across the street had great view of Navy Pier. Would stay again.

Hotel was fantastic! Everyone was very helpful and very friendly! We will definitely stay at this hotel again. We checked in at 11:00 am to start our day of shopping. How great is that. Concierge, front desk people were great! Can't wait to go back when it's warmer. Awesome view from the 24th floor
Great location, mediocre room - posted on 11/26/2006
Make no mistake, this hotel has a beautiful lobby and is within walking distance of some of the best spots of Chicago but....upon arrival our room smelled like a gym locker room and the comforters were very lumpy. Housekeeping woke us up at least 3 times the next morning after we repeatedly told them we would be leaving in half an hour (Yes, this all occurred within 15 mins!). Not the kind of service I would expect from the Sheraton.

The location was great! Close to everything. The concierge was so helpful & supplied maps and easy directions. The room was beautiful with a beautiful view!

Fabulous Hotel. We stayed 2 nights and had a great room with a great view. The staff was very helpful and nice. I would definatly stay here again
Loved our stay! - posted on 09/12/2006
Loved location- close to Navy Pier, shopping, bus, "L" & great view of Lake! Beds very comfortable. A fan in bathroom would help. Only problem- concierge service. Twice were given incorrect info. Wrong bus # to get from Lincoln Park to Wrigley (made us LATE!!!) & wrong place to catch "L" to O'Hare. MUST do better in this area! Overall- happy with stay.
Disappointed - posted on 08/24/2006
We stayed at the Sheraton for 2 nights. Our room was nice, but nothing exciting. The most upsetting aspect of our stay was that guests had to pay to workout in the fitness center. If you pay to stay at a facility, it should include the use of the fitness center equipment. To charge guests to workout is outrageous!!!! We will not stay at this hotel again....
Great stay as long as you don't order room service - posted on 08/22/2006
The room was great, the view was lovely but when we ordered room service there was a $3.25 delivery fee as well as an automatic 18% gratuity. My $12 pancakes ended up costing $20.
Impoove Cleanliness - posted on 07/26/2006
The LOCATION of the hotel was fantastic! CLOSE to everything! The hotel rooms themselves could be cleaner. Sheets had rips and holes in them as well. Seems as though they need to freshen up and update a little to improve things. Staff not too friendly or helpful.
Our Sheraton Chicago Experience - posted on 06/04/2006
We would have given the Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Towers a 5, but the sauna was not working during our visit. The location, appearance, amenities and staff are wonderful!
Luxury for less - posted on 04/21/2006
This is a flagship hotel in the Sheraton family and is luxury in decor and service. I would have liked to have had a room with a river view, but for the price it was lovely!
Excellent value - posted on 04/21/2006
This hotel has it all: Location, service, comfort. The concierge service is especially good. There are lots of little luxuries that really enhanced our stay.
Just alright in the Windy City - posted on 04/10/2006
As some previous reviewers noted, the hotel seems to charge for every amenity. Plus, as a soda drinker, I had to walk across the parking lot to a Walgreens to get a cold soda. The lobby area and bar areas are very nicely laid out.
Horrible Rooms - posted on 04/03/2006
My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary. The initial room we received was not cleaned as well as a 3 star hotel should have been cleaned. In addition, the lamp shades and pictures were all crooked. We upgraded our room to have a lake view instead of a parking lot view. Our new room still had the same parking lot view, with only a sliver view of the lake. I would definately not recommend this hotel for a special occassion.

Love It - posted on 04/01/2006
I stay in this hotel every 4 or 5 weeks. I love everything about it. I don't know where those others were staying but I've stayed at least 20 times and have never had any problem. The staff is courteous, the service is fantastic and the location is convenient!

The chips and trash in the hallway to our room was never picked up during our stay. Housekeeping didn't clean our room or replace towels. They came in to restock our fridge and made sure to charge us for the pop though!
Don't come here - posted on 02/09/2006
I have stayed in all types of hotels. I would not let my dog stay at this hotel. Prepare to have a fist full of cash ready to hand out if you want the usual expected services elsewhere.
Christmas stay in Chicago - posted on 12/22/2005
The location and accomodations at the Sheraton Hotel were excellent. It is a great place to spent a weekend in Chicago, especially during the Christmas Holidays.
Reservations mean nothing - posted on 12/20/2005
Checked in just after 7pm and was told that all rooms with a king size bed at our reservation level were taken. My wife's pregnant so sleeping in a double bed is quite uncomfortable for the both of us. Confirmed that my reservation was for a room with a king size bed but that didn't matter to them. I politely asked them to upgrade us to a room that had a king size bed at no extra charge and they did. But why did I even have to ask? Why do reservations mean nothing? Isn't that why you make them? Isn't that why they charge us in advance for the room?

I have been to this hotel many times. It is always a pleasure.
Only if you're attending a con here - posted on 09/04/2005
I would only stay here if attending a convention (I was). Most important to me is a room that is large, comfortable and quiet. My room was quiet. It did not have an easy chair. It was a long, odd shaped room with the small TV at one end and the bed at the otherl. Staff is oppressive with attention. It's hard to move around without paying lots of tips.
Tower rooms - posted on 08/31/2005
The rooms in the tower are miniscule. Found three insects roaming around. The indoor pool is a lot smaller than what the website portraits. Rated as 4 stars. I give it 3.
Chicago Sheraton - posted on 08/15/2005
Most compfortable Hotel be I have seen. The pool was cold, but the pool are was muggier than a rain forest. The hotel had a wonderful location and a great view of downtown Chicago. We were in easy walking distance of Michigan Avanue(American Girl Place), and Navy Pier, and a $5.00 to $10.00 cab ride from the aquarium and many resaurants.
Can you say perfect?? - posted on 08/10/2005
This hotel is fantastic! I make several trips every summer to this area for leisure, and I try to stay in different hotels on Michigan Avenue and just off. This hotel is the closest to Navy Pier and Michigan Avenue. The view is incredible from the towers and the view of the river isn't bad either. This hotel doesn't have a single vending machine in the building unfortunately. If you're thirsty for a soda, you're outta luck unless you walk to a nearby market. This hotel is nice enough to make that walk to the market worth it.
Good Bet - posted on 08/06/2005
This hotel was clean, easily accessed to a variety of things downtown, and the beds are very comfortable!
Great! - posted on 08/02/2005
This hotel was exceptional as far as service. When we checked in late on a Friday night they did not have the room we ordered available so they upgraded us to a fabulous suite at no extra charge. For the inconvenience at the time of check-in they credited us $50 to use anywhere in the hotel. On our second day there our drain in our bathroom didn't drain properly and for this inconvenience they gave us two free breakfast for the next morning. All of the staff was extra friendly and very accommodating. I would stay here again.
Disappointed - posted on 07/26/2005
We requested a non-smoking room with view and large tub in reservation and at 11:30 am when we first checked in. Only room available was smoking. We went back in the late afternoon to receive handicap room with hole in the wall and mildew in the bathroom. Poor value and a big disappoinment for the price. View was decent, Location was convenient. Definitely not the romantic get away that we had planned. Dinner @ Shula's was tasty (and pricey). It was very loud. Our waitress had to yell above the noise. Other public areas were smoke filled.
Not worth the money - posted on 07/17/2005
Although the beds were very comfortable, the room decor leaves something to be desired. The Conceirge staff was helpful, but the front desk personnel were the opposite. Can't beat the location and the view. After all of the hassels with the front desk, they did appologize and delivered breakfast vouchers to our room.
