The pet-friendly Residence Inn Chicago Downtown provides all-suites accommodation well suited for the extended-stay business or leisure traveler. The 19-story, non-smoking hotel has 221 one and two bedroom suites all with a fully equipped kitchen and separate sleeping area. Items included with the room rate are a hot breakfast buffet, high-speed Internet access, weekday social hours, a full dinner buffet on Wednesday evenings, local telephone calls and coffee available in the lobby 24/7. The inn has two meeting rooms for business or social functions. The larger can accommodate 25 guests. The property was previously a prestigious condominium. The inn is within walking distance of shopping and dining on Miracle Mile and attractions including American Girl Place, the Shedd Aquarium, Navy Pier, Field Museum and Lake Michigan.

The location – right on Chicago’s Miracle Mile – attracts clients to this Marriott property. Many clients were impressed with the quality of the accommodation and the fine service they enjoyed during their stay. Families said the two-bedroom suites were ideal and the fully equipped kitchen enabled them to eat in and save on the expensive dining nearby. The breakfast buffet was more expansive than many customers expected and it was included in the room rate. This is one of the few places downtown where pets are permitted. All the suites have a kitchen with conventional oven and microwave oven, stovetop, refrigerator with icemaker, dishwasher, coffeemaker, toaster and a full set of cutlery and crockery. Other amenities include a work desk with high-speed Internet access, two-line telephone, pullout sofa bed, cable television with news and movie channels, pay-per-view movies, hairdryer and an iron and ironing board.

Turn left (north) and go five blocks to Chicago Avenue. Turn right (east) on Chicago Avenue to first light (Mies Van Der Rohe Way), turn left (north). Go four blocks on MVDR Way to Walton. The hotel is on the right.
