Guests at the Fairmont Chicago hotel will appreciate the deluxe accomodations and hotel staff's personalized service. As you walk into the lobby you will be stepping into a part of Chicago's history and lore. The staff greets guests by their name. The hotel is located downtown Chicago in a commercial and retail structure overlooking Lake Michigan. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the Loop, Magnificent Mile and Chicago's theaters and nightclubs. Guests can get to their destination in style with a complimentary chauffered drive in the hotel's new car, a Bentley Continental Flying Spur. Aria Restaurant & Bar is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, serving contemporary American cuisine with an international spicy accent. Room service is always available. For those who want to relax or be seen, the Lobby Lounge serves meals and cocktails late into the night. Waves Spa offers European massages and therapies. For an additional fee guests have access to a fitness center with an indoor and outdoor pool.

The reviews of the hotel have been mixed. Guests have either loved their stay here or were disappointed. Some of the complaints have been about the hotel staff and service-being snooty and rude. The hotel has been undergoing renovations and people were disappointed to find their room had a view of a crane or construction site, or worse yet the room was tired and worn. One guest complained there was no bath mat in the bathroom and mold around the tub. For those that had a great experience the hotel was everything they expected. They enjoyed being pampered all weekend long. Time in the room was as fun as just being in the city. Guests enjoyed soaking in the tubs and walking around the room in the luxurious bathrobes. Fairmont Chicago Accommodations

The Fairmont Hotel is one of the Windy City's premiere hotels. The hotel caters to both the business and leisure traveler. Guests will enjoy starting off their day coffee or expresso service available in their room. The hotel can accomodate business meetings and weddings. Wedding specialists can assist brides and grooms with their honeymoon planning. For those who need special assistance with business meetings or just making their stay in Chicago memorable, the conceirge will take care of the necessary arrangements.

Amenities offered

The hotel's guest rooms and suites have been individually designed. Guests will appreciate the room's spaciousness and plush decor. A wonderful stay is assured as the rooms have the feel of being residential while affording guests a taste of luxury. Most rooms have a sitting area where guests can enjoy a drink and view of the lake. A few rooms have an in-room fireplace, which will warm the coldest of toes on a blustery windy night in the city. Guests will appreciate that no hotel room is more than four doors away from the elevator. The marble baths have oversized tubs, stall showers, mini-TVs, radios, phones, scales and heat lamps. Women will appreciate the large counter space and makeup mirrors. Those who enjoy being pampered will enjoy having a hand-drawn bath by the hotel Bath Sommelier or a hand-poured martini served bedside.

From Chicago International O'Hare Airport (From I-90/94): Take I-90/94. Follow signs to Chicago. Exit at Ohio Street (Exit number 50B) Proceed three blocks to LaSalle Street. Turn right on LaSalle Street. Proceed five blocks to Wacker Drive. Turn left on Wacker Drive. Proceed ¾ mile to Columbus Drive. (Second light after Michigan Avenue) Turn right on Columbus Drive - 1¼ blocks. The Fairmont Chicago will be on your right (immediately after South Water Street). From Midway Airport (From I-55): From Midway Airport follows signs to Cicero Avenue (Northbound). Proceed on Cicero Avenue for two miles to I-55 North. From I-55 North, follow the signs to Lake Shore Drive North. From Lake Shore Drive North, drive one mile past Museum Campus, staying to the right. Exit Randolph Street/Wacker Drive. Upon crossing Randolph Street, stay to the left following the signs to Wacker Drive. Once on Wacker Drive, immediately merge right driving up ramp to upper level. Turn left on Columbus Drive (first stoplight) - 1¼ block. The Fairmont Chicago will be on your right (immediately after South Water Street). From Lake Shore Drive - Southbound (Route 41). Using the Grand/Illinois/Navy Pier/Wacker Drive, exit and continue on the exit ramp. Upon crossing Illinois Street, stay to the right for the Wacker Drive exit. Once on Wacker Drive, immediately merge right driving up ramp to the upper level. Turn left on Columbus Drive (first stoplight) - 1¼ block. The Fairmont Chicago will be on your right (immediately after South Water Street). From Interstate 290/Interstate 88 I-88 to I-290 East to Congress Parkway merge. Remain on Congress Parkway six blocks to State Street. Turn left on State Street. Proceed on State Street one mile to Wacker Drive. Make a soft right turn on Wacker Drive. Drive four blocks to Columbus Drive (second stoplight after Michigan Avenue). Turn right on Columbus Drive - 1¼ block.
