Pocatello played an important role in establishing the Oregon Trail. The reason is Fort Hall. Although a replica is all that remains, it’s still quite interesting. There’s also a great museum, golf courses and beautiful bike trails.

Fort Hall was not in Pocatello and the Oregon Trail never went through Pocatello. Fort Hall was located about 20 miles North near the town of Fort Hall on the Fort Hall Indian Reservation. The Fort Hall Replica is missplaced. The location of the real fort is known but to see it you would have to terspass on tribal land. Not a good idea.
