Boise, the capital of Idaho, has a great mix of cultures and thus, you have a lot of amazing dining options, art galleries and museums that showcase the different heritages. One of the more unique sites to see is the Old Idaho Penitentiary, which now houses the beautiful Botanical Gardens. Lucky Peak State Park, located just outside of Boise, is a fantastic park filled with great outdoor activities. Its Sandy Point Beach is the perfect place to soak up the rays and enjoy a BBQ. Sandy Point Unit is ideal for summer concerts. Idaho City, also close to Boise, was once a major mining town during the gold rush era but today youll see western storefronts, restaurants and even a few saloons.
