Molokai Hotel Guide Cheap Molokai Hotels

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to not see a single skyscraper for miles around? Molokai is proud to be one of those rare tropical locations where nature has ruled supreme. This beautiful island has protected its natural elements and local culture, which means you will be able to enjoy an authentic Hawaiian getaway.

One of the top reasons why people come to Hawaii is to see its stunning beaches. Papohaku Beach is definitely one of its finest. It stretches out for miles, which gives you plenty of room to soak in the sun. Although it might be hard to tear yourself away from the beaches, Molokai has some fantastic golf courses that are definitely worth your while. The Ironwood Hills, located in Kalae, is a beautiful nine-hole course. The Kaluakoi Golf Course is championship quality and is often ranked as one of the best in all of Hawaii. Although the island is quite laid back it does have a town center. Kaunakakai is lined with great places to enjoy a meal and even a few stores to do some casual shopping. Maunaloa is becoming a lively location on the island as well. You can browse through the unique stores and dine at some great restaurants.

Molokai has a few valleys found across the island. Make your way to Halawa Valley if you only have time to explore one. The hiking trails, beach, scenic waterfalls and lagoon definitely make it worth your while. Spreading over an impressive 50,000 acres the Molokai Ranch takes up much of the island. The local cowboys are willing to teach you some of their skills and you can enjoy a scenic ride along the Great Molokai Ranch Trail. Molokai is also known for its fishponds. It may not sound particularly glamorous but the island was once a leader in this industry well before it was, well an industry. The Kaloko'eli Fishpond is one of the best examples found on the island.

The over 2000 acres of rainforest that make up Kamakou and Mo'omomi is filled with amazing flora. Interestingly enough, this area is also home to the Mo’omomi Dunes. Although it is only accessible via 4 x 4s, the trek through it is a great experience. It may not be on everyone’s top ten list to see a leper colony but Kalaupapa is exactly that. Now a national historic park, the North Shore’s majestic cliffs surround it, almost as a natural barricade. Please note that you will need to book a tour if you are interested in visiting the actual colony. Standing tall over this colony lies the Pala’au State Park. Even if you are not interested in walking along its trails, the views it provides are reason enough to come. Choose to get around with a tour bus or saddle up a horse to see all that Molokai has to offer. Molokai also has a boat trip that can take you to Lahaina and Maui, with a return to the island. This might be a good option for those who would like to see a bit more of Hawaii.

The laid back pace, stunning scenery and glorious beaches all make Molokai an incredible island to explore. Whether you park yourself on the beach or hike along its trails, this Hawaiian getaway is the answer for a well-deserved break.
