Customer Reviews for Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki

Highly recommended - posted on 01/20/2006

This was a great hotel for families. The service was excellent, the staff very friendly and helpful. The shuttle bus arrangement into Waikiki was a great idea. Definitely one of the best hotels we've stayed in.

Good buffet - posted on 11/01/2005

The elevators had a terrible smell, like they had been cleaned with ahi. And the absence of a lanai makes the room less desirable overall but particularly for a vacation. We did not get a king size bed despite our request and the staff was not particularly helpful in trying to make other arrangements other than to say "call back tomorrow." The buffet at the Prince Court was very good (although a few items were dry) and the waiter was excellent. I wish I could remember his name but I recall he had worked in San Francisco for a number of years and had recently returned to Honolulu.

Great hotel - posted on 10/18/2005

Everything great about this hotel except for the ugly view of boat shop at the marina at the feet of these giant buildings. Other than that this place is nothing but pure pleasure in heart of downtown Honolullu. I recomend all Honolullu visitors to get their rental car equipped with GPS system since the street grid pattern here is very confusing and parking is a huge problem.

I WAS VERY IMPRESSED. I TOOK MY 13 YEAR OLD ON VACATION FOR SOME MOM AND SON ALONE TIME. THE HOTEL WAS VERY CLEAN AND THE STAFF WAS VERY PLEASANT. THE HOTEL IS WALKING DISTANCE TO EVERYTHING. THE HOTEL DOES OFFER A SHUTTLE BUT WE WERE SO CLOSE WE WALKED. THE FOOD IN THE HOTEL WAS A LITTLE EXPENSIVE SO WE ATE BREAKFAST THERE AND HAD LUNCH OR DINNER OUT. I'M PLANNING MY TRIP FOR NEXT YEAR.

Very impressed - posted on 03/21/2005

I was very pleased with my stay at this hotel. The rooms were very clean with a great view of the marina. The huge window that opens was a plus. Staff was very pleasant and parking was pretty inexpensive. Not right on the beach but only a short shuttle ride away. Great place to stay for couples.

Wonderful Prince - posted on 05/03/2007

From the moment we got there everyone was very friendly and helpful. Each employee we talked to gave us their undivided attention and helped us make the most of the trip. The room and view was excellent and would definitely return the the Hawaii Prince Hotel. This hotel is a little more expensive than most but the service, staff and facilities are worth the price.

Very nice! - posted on 03/14/2007

Staff was incredible. Room was nice and exceptionally clean although a bit worn. Bathrooms are fabulous! Not the right place if you want easy beach access but the view is incredible and because of it's location and facing away from the street, nights are quiet. I'm definitely planning to stay again when I return in May.

A Prince in Waikiki - posted on 03/04/2007

The service, the accomodations and the view make this a must visit near Waikiki. The breakfast buffet is a great way to start the day and the concierge service was the best! I can't wait to go back!

Mainly for Business Travellers - posted on 01/29/2007

First, let me say that the service was 1st class. They really bent over backwards for us. The down side. No Balconies!! The view from every 1 bdrm suite does NOT face the ocean, which was a very big deal to us. There was no real place to just hang out except the pool. I won't stay here again unless I have no time to enjoy Hawaii. The place, after all, has excellent service!

Great Experience - posted on 12/19/2006

The hotel staff were so professional and accomodating. The hotel was much nicer than I ever expected. Very spacious, clean rooms. We had a suite and it was great! No charge for valet car rental parking, only asked to tip the valets.

Awesome Prince! - posted on 11/13/2006

My husband and I spent 10 days at the Hawaii Prince. Outstanding hotel. Clean, convenient location, quiet, great view. Every single staff member we encountered was extremely pleasant and helpful. Walking distance to restaurants, shopping and beach. Just far enough from the downtown area to be peaceful. Concierge personnel were very helpful and got us on several sight-seeing tours. Wonderful trip.

Great Place, great service - posted on 11/05/2006

The hotel was very nice and clean. The rooms were a bit small but the bathroom was beautiful and spacious. The room was also very clean. The concierge was very knowledgeable and helped us get our tickets for shows and events within minutes. If you do get to stay here, I would highly suggest that you go see the Cirque Hawaii that's only a few minutes away using the free hotel transportation. That was one of the highlights of my entire trip.

Outstanding - posted on 09/25/2006

The Prince is a very very good 4 star hotel. Rooms are spacious, clean and tidy with excellent servicing. Location is outstanding: close to Alo Moana beach and park; close to Alo Moana shoppong mall; close ebough to Waikiki without being in the middle of it. The gym is a bit basic (as is the pool) but the park and beach right next door more than make up for this. Not a 5 star but still very good.

Well worth it! - posted on 08/18/2006

First visit to Hawaii for a friend's wedding. Location of the hotel was great - well within walking distance to the main strip of Waikiki without the hassel of crowds. Hotel was clean, nicely designed and functional amenities. Great price for the area - everything I needed without paying for unnecessary extras. Staff was very friendly, helpful, welcoming. View from our room was great (22nd floor). Ideal place to stay if you want peace and relaxation with the option of busy energetic resort crowds.

Very Impressed - posted on 07/02/2006

The room and bathroom are very spacy and clean. The bed is huge and extra roomy. We stayed on the 30th floor and had an awesome view! There's no balcony, but the windows open and have no screen. It's a good walk to waikiki, but its doable. There are both expensive and non-expensive restaurants around. They also had complimentary robes, slippers, and neutrogena shampoo/cond/body lotion. It also had a separate bath and shower. I would definately come back!

4TH VISIT - posted on 06/06/2006

We came back -- everything about this hotel is outstanding!! And no hassles with traffic or parking, like on Waikiki Blvd. The staff is cordial, professional and you're always greeted with a smile. Our next trip to "heaven on earth" will include the Hawaii Prince again!!

Great experience, very nice people - posted on 06/01/2006

Everyone was perfect from beginning to end. Hotel personnel were very nice, they even gave us a room upgrade without asking for it. The view was very nice. The location was very convenient. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Best deal for quality - posted on 05/29/2006

Hawaii Prince exceeded my expectations. Little things, like robes in the room, bottled water and beach towels for off-site locations are unheard of in most Waikiki hotels. The staff was professional and gracious. I'd definitely book there again and tell my friends about it.

Honeymoon at Hawaii Prince Hotel - posted on 04/28/2006

It was our first time to Hawaii and I definitely recommend this hotel to honeymooners. The hotel staff is very helpful and friendly. You might even get upgraded if you are on your honeymoon.

Great Stay!! - posted on 04/26/2006

Got free double upgrade to 29th floor -- was pleased with that! Staff was VERY courteous from moment of reservation to the point of leaving. A little distant from heart of waikiki. Buffet was GREAT deal. Lower floors might not like harbor view, but higher is good.

Nice Place - posted on 04/15/2006

Not too bad for the price. Staff was friendly. The hotel is a bit dated but had all the ammenities you'd expect. In short, a good deal on a really comfortable hotel but not likely to 'wow' anybody.

LOVED IT, LOVED IT, LOVED IT! - posted on 12/18/2005

Never been to Hawaii before & wanted something special. Room overlooked the harbor - beautiful. We also took many tours Always last picked up and first dropped off. A plus! Starbucks and Red Lobster right next door. Breakfast cafe just a block away across from beach. We are already planning our next trip back. Will definitely stay at Hawaii Prince.

Great Place to Stay - posted on 10/31/2005

Our week-long stay at the Hawaii Price was simply fantastic. The view of the marina was awesome. The entire staff treated my wife and I as if we were royalty. They all acted as if we were their only customers. The Outside Services Supervisor went out of his way to greet us by name each time he saw us. He gave us suggestions on things to do and see, and recommended ways to go about doing them. The room was great; very clean, nice large bathroom with separate tub & shower. There is no where else to stay on Oahu.

not as good as we hoped - posted on 10/17/2005

We were looking forward to our stay. First trip to Oahu. Won't stay at the Prince again. We were on the 6th floor. The room had a horrible smell that resembled cleaned carpets that never dried. We HAD to open the windows to air out the room. That worked. I will choose a hotel on the beach next visit. The yacht harbor is filthy. Trash all over the water surrounding the vessels. Not impressed. The ocean view from my open window was worth a couple of hours of gazing every single morning. The ocean is mesmerizing.

Paradise - posted on 07/07/2005

This hotel made our stay in Hawaii that much better. The staff was more than helpful with directions, sites to see and doing what ever it took to make us happy. Located perfectly in Waikiki and was wonderfully upgraded to an ocean front room.

Great Honeymoon Hotel! - posted on 04/11/2005

Hotel was outstanding!! Without exception, staff was helpful, courteous, and went out of their way to make my wife and me enjoy our visit. The upgrade was very appreciated! Two (2) areas of concern include the use of the elevators during windy conditions and the hotel's golf course. The former was a nuisance, the latter should be dramatically enhanced, then maintained. Our most favorite new person we met during our honeymoon was the driver between the hotel and golf course.
