Customer Reviews for Aqua Bamboo & Spa

More than I ever expected!!!! - posted on 05/05/2007

The representative at the front desk treated us like family; we felt at home the 1st moment. We were offered flowers for my hair, and fruit while we checked in. I loved the comfortable beds and the nice bathrobes for us in the bathroom (I purchased one to bring home). Our housekeeper greeted us with true Aloha spirit, each and every morning. The Bamboo serves a continental breakfast and every Thursday evening they offer the Managers Cocktail party, you just have to try the Coconut Bamboozle! The pool area is cool and relaxing with tropical plants and a waterfall.

pleasantly suprised - posted on 03/15/2007

We booked acqua bamboo after a horrible experience at condo we had rented, the front desk did absolutely everything they could to help us out, even though they only had one room left, they let us see the room before we booked it and were very understanding considering this was at 2am. Very happy with the spa services I received and the nice little walk to the beach that wasn't far at all. The pool area is very secluded and relaxing. I was very pleased we will surely stay there again.

Beautiful and Convienent - posted on 03/13/2007

This was a great little hotel; we did get an upgrade to the Aloha Delux Suite, which was amazing. We were able to see the ocean from our lanai and easily able to walk to other popular areas in Waikiki. The kitchenette could use some renovating, but other than that, all was nice . The employees were all very friendly and helpful. The website does need some updating on amenities. we wished there was a resturant/bar, but overall, it was very nice. It was the nice intimate tropical vacation that we were looking for! I would definitly reccomend this hotel.

Fist and LAST stay - posted on 01/05/2007

The room was tiny and shabby. During the 7 nights we stayed there, the maid never changed the sheets. Pillows were hard foam, wafer thin. No bar, no restaurant! Although the rooms were recently renovated, they were still old and dank, plaster holes in the walls that had been poorly patched over. Very depressing place to stay, I hated coming back to sleep there every night! Air conditioning unit was located directly over our heads and the cold air made our throats sore, we caught a bad draft, making us sick. I would NEVER stay here again.

We were pleasantly surprised by our wonderful suite, the charm of the A.B., very close to beach. Front desk pleasant and helpful.

Dont waste your money - posted on 09/26/2006

The rooms in this hotel are shabby (dont be fooled by the web site). The wall paper was peeling off the walls, the kitchen was grimmy, the bathroom was damp and steamy and there were bugs in the carpet.

The hotel staff are accommodating. When we requested to change our room (from double bed to twin bed), the staff did it immediately. The room is large and fully equipped with all the important features i.e. iron, electric kettle. There's even a kitchen stove and cooking utensils as well. Location is excellent. Right in Waikiki, just one block from the beach. Walking distance to all the nearby restaurants and stores.

pictures are better - posted on 09/04/2006

We had a suite kitchenette. Although the hotel was renovated, the workmanship was shifty. The shower door and towel bar broke off. The sheets didn't feel clean. The suite was somewhat spacious, butt was generally not comfortable. The free continental breakfast was disappointing, which was just cans of juice, coffee (optional), a danish, muffin, and yogurt. The jacuzzi barely fit 3 ppl comfortably. There is little to no parking and the ramp was steep. Overall it was OKAY but it wasn't worth the money. However, we'd like to try the spa within the hotel.

April 2006 visit - posted on 05/05/2006

The Aqua Bamboo and Spa website shows impressive photo but the room looked old. The little kitchenette area has a lot of cockroaches. The female front desks are very helpful and friendly but two of the male front desks are not very friendly.

Excellent location in Waikiki. Close to beach. Nice pool; dated lobby. Great front desk service; housekeeping sometimes did not come until after 3pm. Good choice for price.

The best place ever!!! - posted on 11/25/2005

The location is the best it is very close to The Market Place 2 Blocks away from the beach. Everything is in walking distance. The hotel is worth every penny. Since the first day we got there the hotel smelled very good and very clean the only thing they need imporovement in the bed we wanted a king size bed they put two twin beds together wich made it very uncomfortable it would make a huge gap in the middle of the beds. But other than that the hotel is very great definitley recommend it.

shoddy - posted on 09/21/2005

I found the room very small, shoddy and unclean. The air conditioning did not work properly and when it did it was very noisey and kept me awake at night. The plug in my bath was broken and even though I complained about it nothing was done about it. I shall not be recommending to friends, however I found the staff quiet friendly and courteous.

Great value for money - posted on 06/29/2005

I stayed here two years ago and loved the place. I had rebooked there and was terribly concerned when I read the other reviews on this site. However on arrival I discovered everything as I remembered it. We had a studio superior room which was clean & tidy. The hotel is not new or flash (its a little tired looking) but is comfortable & clean with a warm friendly atmosphere. Great location & love the pool area it is so relaxing. Given that its labelled a condo, we didn't expect daily maid service, but we got it. Great value for the $$ we paid!

Avoid this hotel!!! - posted on 04/22/2005

We did decide to go the cheaper route on this trip but in the past when we have done cheap we had never experienced such a run down, bug infested, unclean hotel such as the Aqua Bamboo. Our room was horrible to say the least. The room was dark, smelly, the sheet rock was flaking off the walls and the curtains had stains. There was a hole in the corner of our room where you could see a huge hole and the wire mesh rusting through. Our bathroom had mold and hair stuck all over the walls and floors. The shower curtain made me gag because who knew what was stuck to it. Avoid this hotel!!
