Loved this hotel !!! - posted on 05/30/2005
We absolutely loved our stay here!! The staff was unbelievably friendly and helpful. They go way out of their way to make you feel spoiled! Views are spectacular and buffet breakfast and dinner steps from the ocean was a huge treat!! Only tiny complaint is the lack of sandy beach in front of the hotel.

Lots of cool little things like High Tea, and onsite restaraunts were amazing. Very relaxing, the turn down service was also a nice touch! I was highly impressed with this hotel, and I dont impress easily!
An Oasis - posted on 04/10/2007
The Halekulani is truly an oasis in the middle of Waikiki. The property is the perfect size - allowing for relative anonymity but not being overwhelming. The serivice rivals any 5 star hotel I've ever stayed in and the environment is just beautiful. The little extra touches like nightly turndown gifts and checking in in your room make it a first class experience.

earthquake - posted on 11/03/2006
We were there during the earthquake, the staff made sure it was business as usual. Even though the power was out for 15hr. The staff rose to the task to make sure their guests were as comfortable as possible. We will make sure to stay there on every visit.
Top Notch - posted on 10/08/2006
I travel extensively and was more impressed by this hotel than any other. The staff was the friendliest, most accomodating I have experienced. They upraded our room and when our flight was delayed by a storm and we missed a night there was no charge. They really want to please their guests. Loved the room and the food.
House befitting Heaven - posted on 02/27/2006
This property has the best service in the Hawaiian Islands in our opinion. The restaurants are very good and the rooms are comfortable with nice balconies. Their pool with its view out over the ocean is one of the prettiest in the world. They may not have a lot of beach but there is plenty of sandy beach in either direction once you walk off the property. We also like the idea that you can walk to so many places in Waikiki. Once all the surrounding renovations are complete in the neighboring properties it will be a little quieter. We will return to the Halekulani again later this year.
DOING NOTHING IN HONOLULU - posted on 02/11/2006
THE STAFF, FLOWERS, ROOM DECOR WAS ALL SUPERIOR. ALSO THE BREAKFAST WAS WONDERFUL AND A GREAT WAY TO START OUR DAY DOING NOTHING.
Wow. - posted on 02/01/2006
After checking in, I just wanted to hug my room. Because they cater to Japanese customers, the level of service is crisp and consistent. The staff remembers your name, learns your habits and like magic, service is customized to your needs. I will be back.
#23 in the world - posted on 01/22/2006
My ten day stay was absolute perfection in almost every respect. I say almost because at times there were a coule of noisy kids around the pool, but that's not the hotel's fault. (This is not a hotel for kids.) I have stayed at 5 star hotels in London, Paris, Beverly Hills and elsewhere and I'd give Halekulani 6 stars if I could.
HEAVEN in Hawaii - posted on 12/16/2005
I have no idea HOW they accomplished this, but absolutely every employee (from the resort manager to the person responsible for refilling the fresh fruit in the room) spoke to me by calling by my name! Everytime! Employees I had never seen before - not just the ones I had occasion to speak to repeatedly. Money well spent, and I WILL BE BACK as often as I can. Halekulani is Honolulu's best hotel/resort - WITHOUT QUESTION!
Definitely not worth 4 stars - posted on 09/25/2005
I only stayed here for the location (we were in town from Kona for the USC game) The service was nonexistent and the rooms small and shabby. I have always stayed at the Kahala Mandarin in the past and will only stay there in the future! I also found cigarette smoke to be a problem.
It - posted on 08/20/2005
If you are a chain smoker, this hotel is for you! Great service, friendly staff, excellent food and location. But if you are a non smoker, DO NOT stay here. There are two small designated outdoor areas (and since you're in Hawaii of course you want to be outside!) for non smokers...in the least desirable areas. I felt nauseated the whole stay. I had to wash all my clothes twice upon my return.
Awesome Vacation - posted on 04/17/2005
We jumped over unexpectedly, and were thrilled with our stay. The service was fantastic, the grounds were so beautiful. We will definitely be back as often as possible.
