Beautiful Hotel in a great location! - posted on 05/23/2007
The Ala Moana Hotel is centrally located next to the Ala Moana Shopping Center. The hotel was recently renovated and the room was gorgeous! The hotel is just a short walk to the beach and is next to all of the best places to shop at. I'd definitely recommend this place and will stay there again on my trips to Hawaii!

The staff was very helpful and patient when we arrived and couldn't find our reservation. They handled the frustrating situation well. The room was recently renovated very nicely but the view from our 14th floor room was of a parking lot and the side of another hotel. Overall, a good, convenient place to stay.Parking was $15 per day. It is a block from a beautiful swimming beach.
I Love Hawaii - posted on 02/14/2007
I enjoyed the Ala Moana Hotel. The view was amazing from our 23rd floor room. The pool was quite big. The bar beside the pool was perfect. Would I stay there again, in a heartbeat. I also liked the easy access to the Ala Moana Mall which has The Mai Tai bar at the very top level. The sushi restaurant behind the hotel is the best I have ever been in. It is quite small but the sushi and the service was awesome.

The front desk staff were very friendly she offered an option to upgrade which made it more exciting. The overall setting was clean and friendly even though the hotel was still going thru some renovations. Close to shopping mall and restaurants.
Convenience - posted on 11/28/2006
Room looked newly renovated, could have been cleaner, great towels, but very small. Location was very convenient. Next to bus stops, attached to a huge mall with everything you could want in food and shopping. Not on the beach but for the money it's hard to find one that is.

The room was great. Nice size only thing I didnt like was the Plantation Cafe. Expensive and very slow service. Would stay there again.
Buffet - posted on 11/01/2006
WE stayed Ala Moana several years ago and enjoyed the Sunday buffet. Do you still serve the buffet and if so, what is the price? thanks
Pleasantly Surprised - posted on 10/28/2006
Hotel conveniently located; rooms are recently renovated, stylish & had everything: sofa, chair, coffee table, comfy bed, desk, fridge, etc. View from room wasn't great, but you don't go to Hawaii to look out the window. Hotel seems to be under renovation, but NOT noisy. Could have used more staff at Reception Desk during peak hours, but they were friendly & everything else was great. Stores in lobby very convenient, concierge very helpful, Ala Moana Shopping Center just steps away!

Housekeeping item - Loved the room, except there was a faint smell of urine by the toilet.

The hotel was great! Our room was clean with a queen size bed. The entire building went under renovation, so it looks brand new. Nice view of the ocean. Great location right next to Ala Moana Shopping Center. The rooms were very private, you couldn't hear anything from the rooms next door. Staff was knowledgable and very friendly. The parking attendants were great with directions and suggestions of where to go and eat. Would definately stay there again for sure!

We stayed in the Waikiki Tower and had a gorgeous view of the ocean and Waikiki. The room was absolutely awesome! The hotel is being renovated and seems to be almost finished. The hotel staff were very friendly.
Upgraded and like new The Ala Moana Hotel - posted on 04/05/2006
Upon checking in, we were upgraded to an ocean view recently remodeled room. It had everything we needed with a lovely harbor view. Quiet nights, airconditioner that was also quiet, and european modern styling made stay pleasant. Would return and tell friends to stay at the Ala Moana Hotel. The kids liked the pool and walking to the Ala Moana Shopping center and to Waikiki Beach. Hotel staff super friendly and Rumours disco fun.

If you haven't stayed here recently, you should go back. The hotel is being completely renovated and it's really nice. Stayed in the Kona Tower cause it was cheaper, but had a great view of the Ocean. Excellent location!
RENOVATED - posted on 11/30/2005
Hotel rooms are currently under renovation. I had a nice room and great ocean view. The shopping mall is very convenient (right across the parking lot!) Convention Center is right across the street.

Certainly a great find ... most helpful and courteous staff ... easy access ... great views ... great rates ... what more ?
Time for a total room remodel - posted on 08/30/2005
The lobby was fine and the cafe was good. The staff were helpful. The rooms were a disgrace. The bathrooms were dirty and rusty with cracks in the shower surround. Furniture was at least 40 years old. Would never stay there again!!!!!

I am disabled on a wheel chair; the management made it very comfortable for my needs and any request I asked for. Accessable to shopping area on wheelchair.
Yikes! - posted on 06/16/2005
Hotel was ok and location was close to Ala Moana center. The staff was inconsistent and rude. The rooms were completely outdated for the price that was paid. Plantation Cafe buffet was extremely overpriced. Unless SERIOUS changes are made, I do not recommend this hotel at all.

I live in Hawaii, and was disappointed with the rooms being it was too small and crowded. I would not stay there again.
Reasonable rate - posted on 03/23/2005
Internet (wireless) was only available in the lobby or on the third floor and cost $7 per day. Wireless internet should be provided free throughout the building. The hotel would not extend my stay for another day. Compared to other hotels in the Waikiki area, the rate was very reasonable.
