About the Sheraton Moana Surfrider

The Moana Hotel is the Grand Old Damme of Waikiki. First opened in 1901 as Hawaii’s luxury hotel, it has hosted royalty, dignitaries, stars and just regular folks for over a hundred years. Renovated about 10 years ago, the Sheraton Moana maintains its classic turn of the last century ambiance. The large, spacious lobby opens on the Banyan Veranda that is shaded by one of the largest, and certainly the most famous, banyan trees in Hawaii. Local folks and guests come here for lunch and dinner to watch the surfers and view the spectacular sunsets. If you're lucky and look just right you might see the rare green flash as the sun drops below the horizon.
