The Moana Hotel is the Grand Old Damme of Waikiki. First opened in 1901 as Hawaii’s luxury hotel, it has hosted royalty, dignitaries, stars and just regular folks for over a hundred years. Renovated about 10 years ago, the Sheraton Moana maintains its classic turn of the last century ambiance. The large, spacious lobby opens on the Banyan Veranda that is shaded by one of the largest, and certainly the most famous, banyan trees in Hawaii. Local folks and guests come here for lunch and dinner to watch the surfers and view the spectacular sunsets. If you're lucky and look just right you might see the rare green flash as the sun drops below the horizon.

Moana is a classic Victorian Hotel with all your modern amenities. A visit here is to take a step back into Hawaii of a hundred years ago. Even if you don't stay here, be sure to have high tea. Read our customer reviews?
The rooms reflect the classic Victorian Style of the 1900's complete with claw foot tubes in the bathrooms. The hotel is registered as a National Historic Treasure. Many of the rooms have an unobstructed view of Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head. As you would expect, the rooms have TV and the beds are modern and comfortable.
The defining feature of the Moana is the Banyan Veranda and terrace located right on the ocean. There is a fresh water pool, two restaurants, oceanfront bar and snack bar. Water activities include surfing lessons, catamaran rides and canoe paddling on the famous Waikiki surf. The high point of the afternoon is their famous Victorian High Tea. The fitness center at the nearby Sheraton Waikiki is available to guests.
