This hotel is a 40+ floor building with slow elevator service. Wireless is available, but on the lobby level only. These are basic accomodations for someone who intends to spend their time exploring the island and needs a place to sleep. Room was clean and functional.

The "concierge" needs improvement..no help at all with any activities. We didn't get a room with 2 beds even though we booked one. The view was alright.

get informed, read the reviews - posted on 03/26/2007
this hotel was nice and clean, for the price was really good, we read the reviews before we booked so we knew that the elevator were really slow; we stay on the 23 floor, they have an express elevator to floor 26 so it was easier take all the way to 26 and walk down the stairs 3 floors; noisy but nothing to keep me awake.

This Hotel is o.k. for backpackers or Students on a budget. Don't expect luxury. The elevators are VERY slow so leave with plenty of time. My Biggest complaint is PARKING, which is now $18 Dollars a day and that doesn't guarantee you a spot if you come back late (10-11pm). Not enough parking spaces for all the Hotel Guests. This hotel is great if you plan on being out sightseeing a lot.
Affordable find - posted on 02/19/2007
This hotel is a find, especially for the $* a night price we paid. Twelfth floor room even had an ocean view. Just close enough to walk to everything in Waikiki, without paying Waikiki prices. The room was clean, comfortable, well tended. $18 a night parking was a nuisance. So was room to room noise one of our two nights there. Solutions: Use earplugs, and don't rent a car. Then it's nearly perfect. City's best Thai food next door (Keo's).

Hotel is a good choice for someone on a budget. The rooms are ok, but who stays in their room anyway? There was a short walk to the beach, but you really get a chance to sight see a little. Overall we had a great experience. We would recommend it!
Decent hotel at a good price - posted on 02/12/2007
this hotel is close to everything. The bus system is awesome and right in front of the hotel. The elevator was slow and the rooms were small and a bit dingy but the price was right. No major complaints. We enjoyed our stay.
Stay here if nothing else is available - posted on 02/08/2007
I consider this hotel a glorified motel. Appearance is that of a $40 motel. Elevators do not work as expected/ skip floors, slow, room key required to access floor is good security (it sometimes does not let you get to your floor). Parking is ok during weekdays, but on weekends is open to public ($18/night) and you often end up without your own parking spot in your hotel. Room quality would have made Elvis Presly frown. Floor carpet is low quality. Bathroom are very small, faux marble tub is only luxury-but needs to be upgraded.

I have been staying at the Maile Sky Court for years. The staff is very friendly and welcome me as if I were family(ohana). I always get a room with both a ocean view and Diamond Head view. Cable TV is limited with many travel only channels but one can be entertained sufficiently. Parking is expensive but the bus stops right across the street. A great hotel. (Thousand times better than the Sheraton I stayed in one year). Was closed for renovation resently.
Better than every 5 star hotel in waikiki - posted on 01/17/2007
We liked the hotel very much. The pool facilities were not overcrowded, so we were able to enjoy some relaxing moments that are so unusual for Waikiki. Also, we really much appreciated the service at the lobby. Everyone we met was very helpful... The Hawaiian Airline Check-in Counter was a really good idea. We enjoyed going to the airport without having to check in our luggage. Thank you once again.
Dont stay unless you have no other choice - posted on 11/29/2006
Rooms and corridors are really tiny, dirty and stinky. Typically most of the rooms in hawaii comes with a lanai, but this one did not have one. Elevators take forever. I almost missed my activity shuttle twice as the elevators took more than 15 minutes. Bed was extremely uncomfortable and both me and my wife got backache. Blankets and comforters were so old and dirty that I didn't even use them. Pricewise it might be one of the cheaper one in waikiki, but now I understand why. You might wanna pay few dollars extra and stay away from this hotel.

We stayed here for our honeymoon in July on the 7th Floor. The room was small but clean, and it had a nice view of the city. The downside was parking. If you came back late at night it was practically impossible to find a spot, and they would make you park your rental car into a tiny little compact space. Overall we'd stay here again. We were able to walk to the beach and the Honolulu zoo from the hotel.

Motel 6 with a view - posted on 09/18/2006
The first thing you notice when arriving at this hotel is the hordes of backpackers running around the lobby and halls. This is the kind of hotel that caters to the ultra budget class with small rooms crammed beyond capacity with 6 students to a room. The decor is early 1980's with your choice of 1 double bed or 2 singles. We stayed on the top floor and ceiling leaked on the 1 night that it rained. This is definately a good example of you get what you pay for.
Value for Money - posted on 09/16/2006
Near to Waikiki beach - 20 min walk and restarurants and eating joints - which is the highlight. There are 3 elevators for 24 floors - and most of the time - you would wait for them to appear. Hotel Staff are polite and helpful but have little information about activities and island related information. You would hear 'no or dont know' for most of your queries. Overall Ohana Maile Sky Court is good and value for money.

We arrived at hotel and the first person to greet us was the desk clerk. He was kind, friendly and helpful. We went to our room on the 20th floor and the view was great! We heard the elevators took a while, but we did not have to wait even once for a ride up or down the entire trip. The room was always clean and once we had to use maintenance for a toilet clog, but they were there in a jiffy and so was the maid to clean up any messes. My husband said "this was the best vacation" I loved the koy pond in the outdoor lobby. It was great and we will go there again!

The hotel was a great value!!! The rooms small but clean. The elevators were slow but acceptable. The staff encountered; ft desk, bellstaff, & hskeeping were very helpful . We left our door ajar before going out for the day & security not only knocked but asked me for my ID to verify it was my room (GREAT JOB!!!). The bar on the 5th floor had great drink specials and the staff there great! The pool & hot tub were nice and clean. We would definitely recommend this hotel and we would not hesitate to stay there again.

If you don't want to spend your money on hotel, this is the place to stay. The room was clean, the personal was very polite and service was very good. It is a 20 minutes walk to the beach, but the weather is so wonderful that it is a pleasure to walk down those streets. It is not the Moana Surfrider, but you will get your money's worth. We recommand this hotel.
Good Location and great Price - posted on 08/17/2006
The hotel was a quick walk to the beach and shops. The hotel only had 3 elevators for 30 floors, therefore you had to wait 15- 20 minutes sometimes to catch one. Also, the hotel charges 15 dollars a day for parking so we decided to find parking on the street which wasn't a problem if you don't mind walking a couple of blocks.

You can't beat this hotel for the price. Yes, the rooms are small and the elevators are a little slow, but who cares. The place was clean, the beds were comfortable and the employees were extremely nice. And if you are lucky enough to stay on one of the higher floors the view is great. You're in walking distance to everything-shops, restaurants, ABC stores and beach. I recommend this hotel to anyone. I'll definitely be back!

We were delighted to get a clean, well-equipped room with a lovely panoramic view of Waikiki Beach for a budget price. It seemed a little strange that we had to ride the elevator to 26th floor and then walk down one flight to get to our room, but we got used to it and it wasn't a problem.

I got such a good deal on this hotel that I expected to be a little disappointed although I did read some good reviews about it. Overall, I was very satisfied with the hotel, the room was clean, the staff very friendly and helpful and the location is GREAT. It's a short walk to Waikiki beach, but I can't imagine somebody saying it's too far. Across the street from Niketown and a really nice park where you can jog in the morning and you don't have to put up with all the night activities of the main Waikiki street. The only problem was the elevator that is just pathetic

Good for the price - posted on 07/15/2006
This hotel is good for the price. While it does not have a great location and lots of amenties, it does not cost as much as the places that do. if you do not mind walking a short distance to get to the beach it is fine. The TGI Fridays in the lobby is over priced. Drinks were cheaper at the beach side hotels.
Non-smoking rooms - posted on 07/08/2006
The cleaning staff are so overworked, they hardly have time to clean the entire room adequately - it would be humane to see adequate number of staffing to clean a decent number of rooms and give us a very clean room in the process. Sometimes, profit margins have to be sacrificed to give travelers what they pay for: clean, decent rooms with bathrooms that work, and non-smoking rooms, where non-smoking policy is actually enforced, and elevators are actually working. In six nights we were there, two of the elevators did not work for six nights.
Excellent Deal! - posted on 06/30/2006
We were very pleasantly surprised with this hotel given that we got such a great deal. In our experience the beds were very comfortable, it was clean, great maid service, the air conditioner worked great and you could walk to the beach in 10 min. We can't wait to stay here again! The only thing is that the pool is pretty small so if that is really important to you then you might want to go elsewhere.

This was our first trip to Hawaii. It was last minute so budget was important (thus why we stayed here). It was a great deal for the price we paid and would stay again. Rooms were small but nicely done and clean. Lobby, etc were also nice to lounge in. Eat breakfast at Eggs & Things down the street a few blocks. Fantastic food! Also, Nicks across the road is very good fine dining (and the booklets you get coupons in have 50% off).

Very good hotel for its price - posted on 06/03/2006
We stayed in this hotel for 2 days and enjoyed both hotel and service. Recommend to stay there anyone looking for the hotels in <$100 price range. The only disapointing thing was stucking in the elevator for 20 min and a little bit dirty windows. Also if you have a car, you may experience some problems with parking (absence of parking space).
Great bang for the buck - posted on 06/02/2006
This hotel was just as advertised. Clean, safe, had a nice little pool and a really cool large jacuzzi. It was not the ritz Carlton but given the fact that we stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village for the remaining nights of our trip, the Maile hotel was a much better value. We would definately say there again.

Hate being critical because just being in Hawaii is as close as you can be to heaven, on earth. Rooms in dire need of updating and elevators are extremely slow, but, still a GOOD bang for your buck
A Good Value for the Money - posted on 05/30/2006
Very basic for the budget-conscious: no fancy restaurant, no exercise room, small rooms, but clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Average elevator wait was one minute. Located in a decently safe area with plenty of foot traffic, but surrounding homes need renovating. Within 15 minute walk to beach. Pool and jacuzzi far from fancy. Hotel bar is small and a tad "ghetto," but offers billiards and $1.75 drinks. Complaints are: small bed with old, uncomfortable mattress, loudly-buzzing television, and toilet seat would not stay up. Avoid TGI Fridays downstairs: terrible food, no view, and a ripoff.
Small rooms...but clean - posted on 05/30/2006
The room and bathroom was really small, but it was clean and comfortable enough for my wife and I. The only thing I didn't like about this hotel was that the parking attendent would sell more parking passes than spaces available. For the most part, if you got in late and tried to park, you would end up leaving your car against a wall or in a no parking zone making it hard for others to back out and leave the garage. The hotel should limit the amount of tickets equal to the number of stalls. I would stay here again if I didn't plan to rent a car.

The Ohana Sky Court overall was great, the rooms were nice, and great views, especially if your room is up high. The people at the front desk were really nice and made sure everything was ok. It was my 1st trip to Hawaii and it will not be my last and my girlfriend and I do plan to stay here again. For one thing, they do not charge your entire wallet for the trip like most other hotels, but we had a lot of fun and I can't wait to come back!!!

We stayed at this hotel for 5 days and 4 nights and for the price you pay you can not beat it. The hotel is close to all and well kept and clean. The staff is very helpful and knowledged on the area and available activities. We had an ocean view room on the 29th floor and it was very nice and comfortable. Am looking forward to our next trip to Hawaii and no doubt we will be staying here again.
great value - posted on 05/17/2006
The hotel was clean and well maintained. We stayed on the 34th floor and enjoyed the extensive ocean views. We upgraded to the room with a refrigerator AND a microwave which saved us a lot of money not having to eat out 3 times a day. The elevators took a few minutes to arrive, but were better than most hotels in which I stayed in Waikiki. The walk to the beach was 5-7 min. and to the most populated beginner "surf" spot 10-12 min. I would definitely stay there again.

This hotel made you pay for parking at $15.00 a day. The bedding was bloody and not replaced until I wrote a note to the maid. The room was dirty walls had old toothpaste stuck to it. The elevators were a nightmear. Sometimes taking as long as 15-20 minutes to get you to the right floor.

I highly suggest the Sky Court if you're doing a flight+hotel package. It's right in the center of Waikiki, but closer to Honolulu than most of the other hotels. It's very tall and thin but does the job. The rooms are the perfect size for one or two people, and the views on the higher floors are amazing.

I'm a student so that means I'm on a limited budget but that doesn't mean I'm going to stay in a dirty hotel with bad service. Luckily, Ohana Maile was clean, affordable, and a good hotel. It might not be close to the beach (10 mins walk) but I still enjoyed my stay. Next time, I'll definitely consider this hotel if I'm on a tight budget (which for a student it's always a tight budget).

We were extremely happy with the service from all of the staff. They keep the place cleaner than pretty much any higher priced (even 4-star hotels) I have been in recently. And, everything was in good repair. For an older property, I was expecting much less and was extremely happy with the way the hotel is maintained and managed. We couldn't beat the price, even at the military hotel! And, the location was perfect -- still walking distance to everything in Waikiki, and just a block away from the beach. I woud highly recommend this hotel to anyone!

If your flight is in the evening the hotel will keep your bags and will let you use a room so that you can change for the airport. 10 - 15 min walk to Wiakiki beach. Smal rooms but your not in Honolulu to stay in your room. My wife and I loved the evening walking around the hotel (on Kalakaua or Kuhio avenue where lots of restaurants and shops reside). In general, the hotel offers good value. The room/bathroom though small is clean and bright. However, on the other hand, the mattresses are probably too soft.
Good value - posted on 10/07/2005
I've stayed here many times and been satisfied. It's in a great location, a few blocks from beach, entertainment etc. My only complaint this time is i had to deal with a few rude front desk clerks. Other than that, great views on upper floors just account for long wait on elevators.
Elevator is Horable - posted on 10/03/2005
Me and my wife stayed at this hotel for four days, we stayed in the suite, which was outstanding, had a separate room with had couch and a table and a kitchen, it had a great view of the beach. The thing that me and my wife hated is waiting for the elevator, once we pushed that button to wait for the elevator, it would take around 10 minutes to reach, it started to be so ridicoulous that we just took the stair half of the time.
lay over - posted on 09/20/2005
We had a long layover and used your hotel for our overnight. For the price of our room I think the pillows and sheets and bed could have been a better quality. Check in and out was great and the restrauant attached to hotel was wonderful and service fantastic Thanks for asking
Service was below average - posted on 07/29/2005
All the hotels that I have stayed would gladly offer service like booking airport shuttle bus for guests. The staff commented that the hotel room was too small. Staff has to learn to be more positive about the hotel they are working for. We didn't ask for his negative comment!
A Hidden Gem - posted on 06/21/2005
I have read these reviews and I can't believe just how poorly this hotel has been rated. I have stayed here each of the 7 times in Hawaii, and its clean, close to all of the attractions in Waikiki (not on the beach, but an easy 5 minute walk), has reasonably functional kitchenettes, fabulous ocean and Diamond Head views (you have to ask for this), a whirpool on the roof that's as big as a pool and hotter than you know what (perfect after that long flight), and ample and cheap parking for your rental car in the garage (just don't leave anything in it). It is most certainly a hidden gem.
A Moderate Hotel - posted on 06/17/2005
I spent 21 days at this hotel in a standard room. Small rooms but reasonably clean. Dusting of room furniture could be improved. Good location as it's close to Waikiki but far enough away from the noise and congestion. Desk help is very friendly and competent. Spectacular city views on the upper floors. Laundry room is a great help. Near main bus lines for public transportation. A reasonable hotel for a moderate price. Just don't expect the Ritz.
Yikes!! - posted on 06/05/2005
I was not given a choice in booking and when I checked in, I found myself in a **smoking** room...I am allergic to smoke and I couldn't breathe for the first night. The sink smelled like someone had thrown up in it...the room smelled like an ashtray...it was disgusting. They were able to move me only after the first night, but then the only non-smoking rooms were with a queen size bed...there were two of us...so my friend slept on the floor. The people at the front desk wouldn't even give us a rollout bed.

1 st time to hawaii - posted on 05/31/2005
hotel was nice. remember you came to hawaii to see the sites, not the room. beds comfortable, big bathroom for 2, had refrig, good view even if it wasn't ocean. the night lights and and the sun rise were beautiful. elevators were slow, just give yourself 5 extra min. just in cases. all the people in hawaii were very nice. defiantly going back. would recommend this hotel. centrally located
Good value for price paid - posted on 03/09/2005
I stayed for three nights. I was upgraded to a higher floor with a great view of Waikiki and the ocean. The room was small, the air conditioner loud, and there was a charge to use the inroom coffee. But the rate of $65 a night was great. It was a short (5-10)minute walk to anywhere in Waikiki. Recommended for those on a budget who can't afford the water front properties.
