The hotel was in a great location for going to the beach, shopping, and local restaurants. I was vacation with my 8 year old daughter and every was within a short walking distance of the hotel. The hotel staff was extremely friendly. Will recommend to family and friends to stay at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel.

Location in Waikiki Beach, Safety of area.

Bathroom could be updated, however very clean.

We had another amazing visit there. This was our 4th stay, and it just keeps getting better. The hotel itself, the service, the cleanliness, the rooms (especially in the tower) are all the very best. We can't wait until next time.

The Royal Hawaiian is only a few miles away from the bustling city of Honolulu but you will feel as though you are worlds away from it. Affectionately known as the Pink Palace of the Pacific, it stands out against the blue ocean and lush greenery that surrounds it. Attracting couples eager for romance it is also popular for the famous in need of some peace and quiet. The tranquil surroundings and fantastic stretch of beach provide you with endless opportunities to discover what Hawaii has to offer. It is when you arrive and the orchard lei is placed around your neck that you first realize just how fantastic this vacation is going to be.

There are two buildings for you to choose from. The Historic Building steps back into time with four-poster beds and rich furnishings. The Royal Tower rooms offer you a private patio for you to take full advantage of the beautiful view. Leave the hair dryers and irons at home all rooms will have them as well as free newspapers, air conditioning and 24-hour room service. You can also enjoy the banana bread baked fresh by the onsite chefs.

Amenities offered

Enjoy the Monday evening entertainment when a Royal Luau is performed. Swim in the ocean or at the pool either way, you will be immersed in the glorious sunshine. The Royal Hawaiian also provides kids programs and laundry services. Although the great outdoors will beckon you every minute of the day, the Abhasa Spa is worth discovering. Dining at the hotel is also a treat, especially with a nightcap at the legendary Mai Tai Bar.

The Royal Hawaiian has maintained its charm throughout the years as well as updated many of its rooms and facilities. Its location is absolutely ideal and finding a stretch of sand to enjoy is fairly easy to do. Although some complained that the rooms seemed dated the majority of the comments oohed and aahed about the grounds, service and beachfront property. Its location also allows you to enjoy Honolulus biggest attractions as well as enjoy the tranquility that a Hawaiian vacation promises.
