Clean & comfortable - posted on 02/20/2006
The rooms were very clean altho' a little outdated. It was quiet and we slept well. It borders a not-so-nice area and if I was alone, I wouldn't feel real safe walking the streets at night. The restaurant was over-priced so we walked 2 blocks to the McDonalds. The front desk was very friendly and helpful. They let us keep our luggage in a locked area while we spent the day touring the area. All in all, it was a good deal for the price and for our one night stay. I probably wouldn't spend a week here but if all you need is a place to sleep this is a good place.

We have stayed at the Pagoda before and is very satisfied with what we paid for. We weren't expecting a five star hotel but it was clean, had a great resturant, loved the japanese pond, and check in and check out was great. They even gave us a newspaper every day.
Not good for much - posted on 04/02/2005
This is a hotel where a lot of locals choose first when staying on Oahu and flying between islands. Figured if the locals like it - it'd be a hidden jewel. Not quite. The room and furnishings are old, old, old. While this should be expected given the price... the room is UNSLEEP-ABLE. Extremely noisy. Located on a busy road, you can hear all the road noise all night. Staff were friendly and so were the guests. Its an old hotel. Usually you only need a hotel to sleep in since you're out about town all day, but this hotel is not even good enough for that.
