We loved the Hyatt Regency! - posted on 06/02/2007
The Hyatt Regency is just superb in all ways. Beautiful towers, and they have many fantastic shops. Beautiful pool with 2 hot tubs, food served to you on your lounge chair or in your lanai. The staff was the friendliest we have ever had -- even in the Bahamas and in Europe! We felt so very welcomed by everyone.
As Good As Waikiki Gets! - posted on 05/17/2007
Smack-dab on the center of Waikiki, it is the cornerstone of hotel avenue. Beach view from rooms and 3rd floor pool deck is spectacular, very easy walking both directions on the strip. Within running distance of Diamond Head. Package included breakfast buffet, also excellent. Staff is top-notch. Parking anywhere in Waikiki is a nightmare, so we were more than happy to pay the 18 bucks/day. You can come and go as you please, so was a nice feature. On our checkout day went snorkling - the hotel provided a courtesy room to shower. Excellent resort, we will stay here again!
Great Hotel! - posted on 05/13/2007
The deluxe ocean room has spectacular views and the service is great here. Just one thing to keep in mind: dine INSIDE at the Terrace Grille. There's a lot of pigeons that try to attack your food when you choose an outdoor table.
Excellent Service - posted on 05/08/2007
It was an excellent location just across the road from the Duke statue and up the road from the Royal Hawaiian. We would have liked to have had two queen beds since we were with two of our kids but they only had double beds, which were too small. They quickly jumped on it to get us a very nice roll away bed. Good food in the Terrace Restaurant with excellent fresh fruit We will definitely stay there again!

The location is perfect, the views from the rooms are unbelievable, both the ocean and Diamond Head. The overall atmosphere in the hotel is that of the tropical paradise with the fountains and gardens. It is just beautiful,Sets the mood for perfect vacation. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. The only thing missing was an ATM in the lobby. There are large variety of stores and services right in the hotel, which makes it much easier to plan your days activities.
Best Trip out of 12 - posted on 04/29/2007
This hotel is the best, large rooms, extra clean, linens changed daily. Free towels and beach chairs available at pool guest services. Great location for shopping, dinning and the beach is just across the street. Fantastic view of the ocean from our bed and balcony. Wonderful breakfast buffet included, on duty chef to make your special omelet. Staff was friendly and courteous and met all our needs. Highly recommend locally owned shuttle. Hike the Ka Iwi shoreline, long hike but worth it and don't miss the swap meet for great prices, feel free to haggle.
For a Great Stay in Waikiki . . . - posted on 04/24/2007
stay at the Hyatt Regency! The staff should all get raises for their service and smiles. Great location, spacious rooms, clean and feels very safe. A few steps from beach, and shops and a short stroll to parks and zoo. Hotel provided baby crib with new linens and bumper pads. Have been to Hawaii many times and enjoyed this hotel the most!

We had a wonderful time, and part of the reason for such a great vacation was the Hyatt Regency. Beautiful, spacious room, great service, awesome location and wonderful food. We could not have done better. Our teenage children and my wife and I would gladly stay here again without any hesitation. Everything was perfect.

worst experience ever at a HYATT - posted on 04/08/2007
Bartenders chose to serve only people who looked like they had money. Bars/ hotel shut down at 11pm. Was told to leave pool chair while looking at full moon cause the swimming pool was closed. I wasnt swimming!!! If you park at 12:30 pm on tuesday and leave at 11am on wednesday front desk says sign in garage says they charge by the hour, yet also say they charge by the day so I got charged for two days. I'll never recommend this place

Our family (of 5) stayed here durring spring break and had an awesome time. The staff would always call me and my wife by name. I felt safe letting my daughters go to the 3rd floor for breakfast on there own. Staff was so friendly. I will stay here again.

Better than Imagined! - posted on 03/25/2007
What a welcoming oasis...from the moment the bell captain took charge of our luggage until he loaded it for our departure, we were treated like valued guests! The room was spacious, spotless, and beautifully decorated. The bed was the most comfortable I've slept on away from home. The restaurants offered a varied choice of dining experiences and the breakfast was always plentifully stocked and promptly served. I will not only direct others to stay here, I intend to take my own advice!
Overall a good experience - posted on 03/19/2007
Pool small. Public areas need refurb.Service very good .Hotel not as good as some other hotels we subsequently saw on Waikii beach front in similar price bracket. That said the overall experience was good for our 5 nights.
Great Hotel on Waikiki Beach - posted on 03/18/2007
The hotel was amazing. The pool area was very tranquil and was furnished with comfortable lounge chairs (not the typical plastic and metal chairs). The hot tubs were located nest to the bar and over looked the beach. Every night they had local hawaiian musicians play. It was great!!!

Our daughter is getting married at the Hyatt in August, so my husband and I took a scouting trip. We're confidant that her wedding will be perfect! The service and staff were simply outstanding! We were treated like royalty. Thank you!

I had my girlfriend in from California this past weekend and decided to stay at the Hyatt. I made a great decision. The staff were friendly and went out of there way at times to ensure you had a good stay. We had a great Ocean front view. The food at The Colony was outstanding. If you dont know where to stay when you come to Waikiki, I recommend the Hyatt be the place!

My 2nd trip to Hawaii, 1st at the Hyatt & would definitely choose the hotel in the future. Everything about the hotel contributed to the fantastic trip. We were graciously upgraded to a oceanview room. That was just a little example of how accommodating the staff was. Thank you for a wonderful stay...the parking ramp was almost like suicide though. I say that with much humor since we can look back at that adventure laughing. =)

the hotel was in a good location. it was near the international market, service was good and friendly, had a complimentary buffet breakfast that was good initially, but then the same items day after day. overall, would recommend.
Great Views before U2 Concert! - posted on 12/14/2006
We had an ocean view room in the Diamond Tower and loved everything in the room. Nice and spacious and the lanai was simply wonderful. The proximity to the beach is awesome though we opted to enjoy the pool, which is nothing short of splendid. We stayed here before a U2/Pearl Jam concert and the hotel got overbooked. More attention could've been given to logistics as our friends had to be relocated. Also, the concierge gives horrible directions so do your own research!

Deluxe Ocean View Room facing the Parking Garage - posted on 11/08/2006
We were disappointed with the small size of the room and the Spartan Furnishings. We anticipated a holiday Island experience but the feel was more like an efficient business overnight stay. We purchased a deluxe ocean view room. We were placed on the 15th floor ( 40 floor hotel) across from an adjacent parking garage. The noise level from the street below was noticeable. We attempted to relocate during our five day stay to no avail. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. The Lobby was a pleasant experience.
Earthquake excellence - posted on 11/01/2006
I was in the Hyatt Regency Waikiki during the October 2006. The dedication of the employees to keeping the guests comfortable and fed was amazing. Considering that the employees had their own families to deal with, that they stayed and served the guests under extreme conditions is a testament to the quality of the help at the Hyatt. Of particular note was X, who made omelets all day over a gas burner. When the power was on, I realized just what a high quality place the Hyatt is. I would definitely return.

This hotel is in a beautifuol location. Well kept and clean. If I had to complain about something it would be getting from the street to the lobby. Had to drag bags up escalator.

Very Happy in Honalulu - posted on 07/16/2006
Beautiful Resort, great service and great location. Ask for one of the trapezoid shaped rooms as this gave us a lot more room for a family of four. We booked a city view to cut costs, but since we were on the 18th floor we could also see the ocean which was an added bonus. Right on the beach. We rented a car the whole time we were there and it was totally worth it. We used their valet parking ($19.00)/day which made coming and going super easy! Highly recommend the Hyatt Regency Waikiki.
great times - posted on 07/12/2006
Very nice, great service, very clean, for a lady very convenient to the stores, the only bad situation was a false alarm at 3:00 am. But it was handle very good and we will continue to be a guess:)
Great place for families & wonderful location - posted on 04/28/2006
Though very pricey for a family the location of the hotel is accessible to everything. Across from the beach, walking distance to the zoo and International marketplace. The rooms are clean and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful in all areas. My only problem with my stay - though not completely the fault of the hotels - is the variety of restaurants near by. The hotel has 3 restaurants, but outside of that there was only fast food and a few sushi places. You can get burnt out after a few days.
love the regency club staff - posted on 04/17/2006
we stayed for a week, we had had a room on the 39th floor, regency club, the view was beautiful and service was outstanding, wish the hotel had more of a pool, but other than that it was excellent, oh, the rooms could use bigger bathrooms, but we dealt with it!
FIRST CLASS - posted on 03/04/2006
Whole complex is A1. Entire staff very friendly and helpful. Received an upgrade to ocean view on 34th floor. What a view! Rooms spacious and squeaky clean. Close to everything and beach most convenient. Funny comment here but the pillows were the best we have ever had at a hotel. When was the last time you did not need 2 pillows for comfort. Not here! Only annoyance was the charge for in room coffee. It is somewhat expensive but well worth the cost. One would think that in room coffee would be "free" as such.
Mike from Florida - posted on 11/02/2005
The hotel overall was very nice. The staff is excellent, cordial, polite, and helpful. Room was very nice, sheets changed daily. View from oceanview room is great. Shops and tour bookings are very convenient and the location is great. We had a great time. They should not charge for room coffee as this is a real negative cue. You must be very careful in the parking deck. Lanes are narrow.

We used 10 years worth of Hyatt points for two couples to spend a week at this hotel. We found the hotel to be the first class experience you typically get from a hyatt hotel. Even though we were staying for free, we were treated like royalty. We loved the elevated pool area and bar that let you sit in privacy with a tremendous view of the beach.

Quite pricey but worth it. Hotel is right across from waikiki beach. Great views of the city of Waikiki or the ocean and Diamond Head.

This was our first time in Hawaii. We decided to stay at a big chain hotel and glad we did. This hotel has everything you could possibly ask for.The service was great and everyone was very friendly. If you don't want to rent a car this is the place to stay. It's close to the beach, resturants, shopping, entertainment.Overall we were very happy there during our stay.

Getting to the front desk and your room is an ordeal with the convoluted layout of this hotel. Otherwise a very nice Hyatt.
Great Value for Family Vacation - posted on 03/28/2005
Great value for families spending days out and about. Parents enjoy live music, island drinks in bar overlooking beach while children play in bar's hot tubs. Hotel provides endless dry warm beach towels. Beach: very close, as if hotel on it. Staff: super courteous. In-room breakfast: consistently on time. Hotel's Expedia desk books island activities -- pricey but worth it. Irritating minimal add-on charges: In-room coffee: $1.65/small cup, surprise charge for in-room safe ($3-4/day). Overall: great hotel but not a park hyatt or luxury spot.
Just okay - posted on 02/12/2005
It was nice but we wouldn't stay there again. Our room was newly remodeled, but the bathroom is very, very small although remodeled, it looked like they were waiting on some furniture to arrive because it was kind of empty. They do nickle and dime you with coffee maker in the room, but they charge you for coffee. Elevators took forever! Restaurants were top notch - great food and very nice shops in the hotel. Beach is across the street with all the guests from surrounding hotels - get there early to get a spot. Expect mid-tier hotel - not a luxury hotel.
First Anniversary - posted on 11/16/2004
The lobby was inviting the rooms were nice the shops and dinning facilities were very conveniant but for an all around you don't get what you pay for. $ a night and you have to pay for parking at $12 a day. They don't even give you complementary coffee.
