Customer Reviews for Sheraton Waikiki

Awesome!!! - posted on 05/23/2005

C'mon people, you can't complain about the room prices here. Yes they could use a remodel, but you're paying for the best location and most courteous staff in Waikiki. I had a room with a view of the ocean and Diamond Head with the pool below. The hotel literally sits on the beach and is convenient to the best shops and restaurants in Waikiki. The only drawback is the hotel restaurant food. It's very expensive and leaves a lot to be desired. Other than that, this hotel is fabulous.

Great location. Kau Kau cafe is very convenient when you do not want to dress up for dinner or have an elaborate event but still want to make it special--the dancers and singers by the pool made a simple dinner quite enthralling for our boys.. The bar was not bad and they also had good local bands playing. Son Caribe was great. I think the only thing that needs to improve are the rooms , which clearly needs to be updated. (and the Shareaton Waikiki is in the process of renovation)

Over all I liked this hotel and would stay there again. The only issue we had was the first room we stayed in. It was very obvious that someone had thrown up all over the room prior to us getting there. They moved us to another room the next morning, but we did not get a discount for that night.

Nice Location - posted on 03/16/2007

Stayed here for 3 days on a recent trip. The rooms have all been updated to include a flat screen TV and all new furniture. I was upgraded to partial ocean view. The staff was nice and accommodating. The only downside was the lack of beach (had to walk a few hotels down to get to famed Waikiki Beach. The Pool was small and crowded. Seemed like Cruise Ship pool where you are on top on everyone. This hotel is close to all activities and you can walk to all shopping and restaurants. All-in all I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again!!

Our experience with this hotel was wonderful. We had a beautiful room with a comfy bed and an awsome view of Diamond Head and Waikiki. The nightly buffett at the hotel was sensational. The location is great. We loved it.

Yes, I will definitely stay here again!!!!!!!! - posted on 09/15/2006

This hotel is so centrally located to shopping and eating. I love how we did not have to rent a car. We walked to the zoo and also the aquarium. It was a nice walk. Not far at all. It was great! We travelled with 2 small children and they gave us a crib and also upgraded us to a partial view room! Loved it! This hotel is so nice. I have to say, one of the nicest I've ever stayed at. It is totally remodelled and it feels like a 5 star hotel. Staff were friendly and I just loved the location. Will definitely stay here again. No need to think twice about it.

Disappointed of theSheraton Waikiki Hotel - posted on 09/03/2006

The Sheraton came short in fulfilling my expectations. I asked for a roll-away bed & they wanted $65. per night. My poor daughter had to sleep on the floor because an additional $455.. would have blown my budget. I never heard of a hotel charging for that service. They should have told me in advance, I would have not stayed there, period! That is not what I call customer service. Fuerther, some days they did not clean the room until 3:30 p.m.

The location of the hotel could not have been any better. They are still remodeling some of the rooms and had not made it to the 31st floor yet but still nice. No complaints.

Great Stay - posted on 08/07/2006

We had a Mountain View which means we were facing north looking over Honolulu with Pearl Harbor, ocean and airport view to the left. Parking was $10 per day in parking deck. Cool things to do. Get a convertible. 1) Punch Bowl 2) Round Top drive - great views 3) Drive Hwy 61, 63, and H3 into mountain passes 4) Diamond Head 5) Kualoa Ranch - 50 First Dates, Jurassic Park plus other movies 6) Polynesian Cultural Center 7) Airport Lei Greeting - (--) 8) Hanauma Bay Hope this helps.

Completely enjoyable - posted on 07/05/2006

Sheraton Waikiki was a pleasant surprise. Everything from reservations, to the room, to the activities scheduling was handled promptly and always with a smile. The maid service was one of the best. X made sure everthing was to our satisfaction every day. Plenty of staff to answer questions and they all offered assistance without being asked. This should be a great testimonial to the management and leadership of this hotel. Others could certainly learn from them.

My husband and I stayed here for the BAC convention last October. Our room was on the 9th floor, overlooking the ocean. What can I say.The view from our room, the island, the sunsets, it was breath-taking.Would we stay here again? In a minute!

Great Time - posted on 04/28/2006

This was our 5th trip to Hawaii and 5th time staying at this hotel. If you have been recently many of the rooms have been remodeled. Right on the beach, close to everything. We have been there 3 times without and our children and found it very romantic and twice with our children and found it perfect for them since hotel is convenient and close to everything your young ones won't get tired with long car rides getting somewhere or having to walk blocks to get to the beach...it's just out the hotel back door!

We just got back from the Sheraton Waikiki and loved it. I will say we had one of the New Refurbished rooms (1921). It was GREAT. The staff is very friendly and helpful. April 17 - 22

Last Time Here - posted on 11/24/2005

I have stayed here three years in a row, and am very disappointed this third trip. Extremely overcrowded; the elevators are jammed every time! $15.00 a day for parking, and the add a "nominal" fee to anything possible. $4.25 for a liter of water you can buy at the store for a buck is absurd too. Not for the couple looking for a quiet and relaxing couple; way way too many screaming kids. Highly recommend the Royal Hawaiian for the romantic serene spot on Waikiki. Staff here needs a little work too.

DISAPPOINTED - posted on 05/09/2005

Would not stay here again. The room was small and needed refurbishing desperately. When we finally got the king we reserved - they had it set up for someone with a roll away cot. The phone didn't work so we had to go back down to the lobby to get someone to remove the cot. When they did the carpet was dirty, we had to have a maid sent up to clean. After dinner they had replaced the phone. The only positive thing was the view and the beach location.

Not what I expected - posted on 04/29/2005

The location was great! Right on the ocean beautiful views and great pool area! On the other hand, the rooms STUNK! They were very outdated and the matress had popping springs every time we rolled over at night. I think I'll try the Hyatt when I go back

great service - posted on 04/27/2005

Very friendly & courteous staff. Hotel gave upgrade to oceanview room with fantastic views of Waikiki beach. At the price to stay there the hotel shouldn't charge $1 for local calls and $5 for a few minutes on the inernet. Many hotels charging 1/4 as much provide free internet access.
