Customer Reviews for Courtyard by Marriott Savannah Historic District

trip with sister - posted on 04/05/2005

Room was clean. You only get shampoo and soap one night. I would think you get more for price. Could'nt walk anywhere because of construction. Construction started Saturday morning at 7:00 a.m. Although they say breakfast is "available at 6:00 a.m." don't be fooled. buffet is $7.95 and you actually have to make your own waffles. Cook to prepare eggs was no where to be found. Parking attendants are very helpful but with so many cars its very slow. Ethel needs some customer service classes. Stay out by the mall. 1/2 the price and its only 7 miles to downtown.

Excellent hotel. The parking does need improvement - however - the service far makes up for the parking problem. I always stay at this Courtyard because the staff will allow you to use the wirlpool and pool anytime. The walk to River Street is only about 10 minutes - and it takes you right through some of the best sqaures in town. Just be sure to walk down Liberty Street to Bull Street - then take a right.

friendly staff, average hotel - posted on 07/28/2006

The hotel appeared to be nicer than the usual Courtyard. Overall, we had a pretty good experience with only 2 complaints. The breakfast buffet was not worth the price- $8. Also, there were a couple of large roaches in our room....so disgusting! The upside--the beds were comfortable and the staff was very friendly. Good location, 10 minute walk to River Street.

great place - posted on 04/05/2006

The hotel was very clean. All of the employees were very friendly and efficient. The location of the hotel was nice, because it was about a ten minute walk to the river front with plenty of sights along the way. The only thing that was a surprise was the mandatory valet parking. It was a one time ten dollar fee, which isn't bad and we didn't have to worry about our car. Great place we will stay again.

bed and breakfast is a better option - posted on 02/22/2005

Althought the hotel staff was relatively good at offering us another room, the hotel itself was a disappointment. For comparable cost, it is possible to stay somewhere in a more central location. The rooms have mediocre decor and did not seem all that sanitary. Though the area surrounding the hotel is experiencing gentrification, the present location is abit dubious, with a gas station frequented by unusual clientele and rather run-down housing only a few yards away. Would not stay here again.

No Customer Service and Property Damage - posted on 02/19/2005

I stayed at this hotel for the location. The service left much to be desired. Our room was not ready when we checked in. Also, guests are charged for "valet" parking which is extremely slow. The parking attendant damaged my vehicle and refused to correct the damage. The manager was rude and also refused to repair the damage. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone. DO NOT let them touch your car!
